My grey who is 17 now was very easy to potty train as a baby. He poops on command and will say afterwards 'lve done a poop' or says 'done a poo poos'. As I recall it took a few days to potty train him.

My African grey was very easy to potty train. The main thing is reading his body language. Once they realize that pooping just anywhere, is unacceptable, they will give you signals when they need to poop. Birds poop and pee at the same time, so if your bird takes a long drink, he will need to poop shortly.

He poops when I say "pooping" (if he doesn't, he already pooped.) He also shows when he needs to poop.

Cleaning off that stand looks like serious work! What do you wash it with?

I put it in a sink, pour water over it, and scrub with a brush. Easier than a couch or carpet.
