I miss the days of wrestling on the holidays. Christmas night in the Omni was one of those childhood memories that made me love wrestling

Conrad had that wrong. It was The Original Midnight Express vs. The Midnight Express. Loved the feud and loved the match. It didn't go longer because I think Condrey walked out again. I even liked them coming out to the same music.

I can understand why the road warriors could NEVER be jeered as a heel team. Everyone has seen them POWERHOUSE everyteam their with. And just because they attack Sting for taking Dusty's place in a six man match. They are what Steve Austin became "anti-hero". The Road Warriors could never been accepted as a heel team, WAY TOO POPULAR based on their look, promos and match dominance. They could never been jeered for ANYTHING they do.

"You dont book back to back dq's'". On Cornette's podcast he said he argued with Vine Russo over a WWF show with "7-8" back to back dq's!

Rick Steiner has a part of his promo that is edited off the Network. I want to know what he said and can't find it anywhere.

Wasn't the story with Windham/Bigeow that Windham wanted to take Bigelow to the limit? Kind of like a boxer that KOs a guy in 3 rounds and a fights a guy that wants to make them go 10 rounds?
@mox193803 жыл бұрын
windham was reaching full potential. that spot where he took the jump kick went over the top and into the ring rail was beautiful. too bad he never had the attitude to be top dog with a company and the commitment to staying in good shape...what could have been

Sting never reached his potential? Was JR in a coma in 95' - 2000? Sting was THE top guy and all he had to do was stand in the rafters lol.
@SeanRankin23 жыл бұрын
I think he meant more from the standpoint of having a lengthy title reign
@mox193803 жыл бұрын
yeah i think JR is more saying that NWA/WCW never allowed him to reach the potential. He was over as anyone and should've been a main eventer like hogan on the reg. but he constantly was put into odd matches with an occasional main event spot....also 95-2000 JR was not in WCW and admits he didn't pay a lot of attention to the day-to-day WCW

Nobody would say sting was THE top guy 95-00… hogan,Goldberg, Nash hall

@@butch5419 Was you watching wrestling back then each and every week? I'm not being sarcastic or a smart ass. There is a big difference going through that era live vs rewatching certain shows or hearing or reading about it. You miss A LOT of context if you wasn't watching it on TV each week such as commercials for example. Sting was all over the place and marketed as WCW's number 1 guy to combat the NWO. Not even Goldberg. Looking back it could seem so but Goldberg was an unknown at the time. He didn't even start gaining traction until well into his undefeated streak. He just kind of did his own thing. It was like a side show to the main show that was WCW vs NWO. I'm not a sting fan boy or being bias. When Sting went into the rafters and was doing the crow gimmick he was the number 1 talked about guy and most popular in wrestling at that specific time bar none. He'd drop from the ceiling or come from wherever and take out the entire NWO without so much as taking a scratch for like a year. He was booked as invincible. Then he had that match with the botched ref count and things tapered off for him from there and things started going different directions but up to that point he was the number 1 bad ass and number 1 most popular. Had the biggest pops and was the most talked about.

@@butch5419 He was red hot! People would always pop when they saw Sting, or his reverse DDT (Death Drop).
