I remember watching that Behind the Mat documentary years ago and JR said it back then: all that matters is getting butts into those seats for shows. I look at most of the dialogue built around this community and have come to the realization that there is so much investment into the personalities that they come at the expense of the shows. I honestly don’t care about any of these people as much as the stories they are telling in order invest interest into the matches they perform. If this is like any other form of entertainment, you have to have a plan, a vision and an intended audience while being flexible enough to make adjustments in order to sell tickets. No one’s artistry is above the need to appeal to the commercial market.

BTW I have a suggestion for one of your titles. It should only change hands through traditional matches. That would force better backstage segments, better storytelling, and better use of the referees. Save the gimmicks to settle feuds once the guys have knocked each other out of contention.
