any tips on removing etched water spots on stainless steel?
@GrillTopExperience
@GrillTopExperience 3 жыл бұрын
I always keep a cover on mine and haven't run into that. Anything abrasive could remove the top layer of the stainless or scratch up the surface, but a lot of people swear by it. You could try cleaning it with vinegar, which is a mild acid to see if it is just surface buildup.

We'd call that the grill grate. I was both excited and disappointed that the grate was under warranty. It's nice to get a new one, but I wanted to try some of the aftermarket stainless grates. If I had to buy my own, that is what I would go with. Many of the grates are completely made from stainless rather than plated, which could help them last longer.

@GrillTopExperience
@GrillTopExperience 2 жыл бұрын
I like the kind that are all metal except for the end of the handle. That allows you to put the bristle end in the grill with the handle on the outside so you can melt the grease off. If it's been a couple years or if the bristles show signs of wear, it is probably time for a new one.

Great that you got a new set of grill grates, but the question still stands: WHY are they rusting so quickly!?? My guess: they're using cheap cast iron with porcelain cover, and as soon as the porcelain chips/cracks moisture gets in there and causes it to rust. I really don't get why they don't just use quality cast iron which you can clean + season? So wasteful, literally designed obsolescence :(
