I like and was 1st attracted to Slaanesh more so than any other gods of chaos because she takes what is already within you, that which you need to survive and destroys you by yourself. Where as all the other gods attack you from without... Slaanesh attaks you from within. Slaanesh doesn't need to defend her realm as you also stated because every sense of satisfaction that all the other chaos gods feel only serves to strengthen her. In fact the other chaos gods seek to avoid her in order to weaken her, but the pleasure each other chaos god experiences from a pox, spilled blood, or fulfilled machination only serves Slaanesh. So much so that... Every pleasure given back to Slaanesh and the pleasure Slaanesh receives from receiving pleasure serves to strengthen Slaanesh even more, yet the perversion of knowledge, ambition, spilled blood, warrior death, life, disease that Slaanesh causes for the sake of artistry or pure beauty does not seem to fuel the other gods. In this, Slaanesh is sustained simply by raucous or bliss alone. Every inward need in order survive and propagate the species is made to feel pleasurable. Eating, sleeping, breathing, shelter, coitus... To enjoy these base things of survival feeds Slaanesh. Making her call inescapable. To deny this, is to deny oneself, and to deny surviving. Abstinence, fasting, and discomfort is the antithesis of Slaanesh and starves her, but in a galaxy where survival and the need of it is on the very cusp of every waking day, none can ever truly afford to abstain. This is why I feel Slaanesh is not only the best but greatest of all the chaos gods. She tempts and goads, but it is merely you that will betray yourself. I also like the fact that of all the chaos gods, she is the only one ever referred to as a she. Every pantheon of powerful beings doesn't always have to be a sausage party. Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite we're all powerful in their own, but not always given their due.

I think, best case scenario is that they would be like chaotic neutral beings. Humanity's dreams, desires, etc would still be chaotic, even if they weren't outright violent, in my opinion.

Some I do myself, some I get from the wikis and add my own paragraphs. The Space Marine Legions miniseries I did was written entirely by me. I would do more that way but writing half an hour's worth of script literally doubles the time it takes to make a video.

You know, I always thought Slaanesh is supposed to be the most powerful god tbh. After you said even other chaos god's servants can power him. What other being can even compete his power? I mean he is the GOD OF DESIRE, all beings desire and thus SLAANESH shall be the mightiest god of all

You make a good point. However, I think when the term "power" is mentioned here, its referred to raw strength in a slugging match. For example, imagine a very attractive woman who is in perfect control of her charms. She could "control" almost any man or even woman through seduction. But if an angry guy comes and punches her in the face, she could still get severely hurt, despite her other "powers". That's how I see it, anyway.

Khorne is supposedly the most powerful not only because fighting is in line with his nature, but also because 40k is filled with wars, which fuels his power. Slaanesh killed off most of Eldars that fuels his/her powers when he/she was born. Orcs and humans are the most numerous sentient beings in 40k, not eldars. In the end, it's about the emotions that people feel, that fuel chaos gods, not what they wish they can feel. There's plenty of bloodshed to go around in 40k, but not as much pleasure.

It think you take it too literally. He might get some strength from this broader spectrum, but it;s appetizer at best, after all, Slaanesh was last major god born. Not to mention, that you can simply state, that every action and it's outcome brings a change wit it.

Hey guys, I dont know if this comment section is still alive but I still want to share my thought experiment with somebody. And I beliece Slaneshes threat is the best place for that. I have been thinking about minor Chaos Gods. Only Malice is known canon. The god of the hate for Chaos. But It is also known that there are other Chaos deietys besides the big 4. So I thoght about it. What if the big 4 Chaos gods actually werent the gods of all the things they embody, but instead were originally smaller minor gods who subdued, enslaved or consumed other Chaos dietys? It is said in the Horus Heresy books that Khorne for example gets fueled by all prayers to any diety concerned with warfare. But warfare is not just bloodshed and violence. it is also tactics and logicstics. But that doesnt fit Khorne really well I think. So I think he is actually not the god of all war, but the god of Rage. And he enslaved and/or consumed all other gods concerned with warfare, so that all their power gets drawn to him. Same can be said about every of the big 4. They are the biggest fish in the pond, but aspects of them may be embodied by minor gods in their service/servitude/belly. Maybe we mistake a greater demon of Tzeench for a minor god in servitude? Hard to say really. Its open for A LOT of creativity, I think. So I created my own Chaos god and Id like to hear your thoughts on him: Crthar - God of Expansion. The embodiment of Chaos nature to expand, control and consume all. Now I know that this sounds VERY much like Slanesh and the desire that comes with obtaining things. But it also doesnt. Slanesh only feeds on the desire. But he does not directly profit from the expansion itself. And that is Crthar. If we have Malal, the god who stands for Chaos drive to self destruct, or the god of Chaos undivided, Crthar seems possible. So now to connect him with my servitude theory: He is/was a servant of Slanesh. As we all know, the warp is immaterial, but also material. It has a geography. Khorne has his Throne, Nurgle has his forrests. And Snalesh has his Palace ... And there Crthar was. Shackled in the palace of pleasure, beeing tortured and humiliated for the dark princes pleasure. Slanesh fed of his greed and envy. His desire. He was a plaything. Nothing more. Many other minor gods are also in the palace as little playthings. But then a new change for him happened: The fall of Cadia and the fall of the border between chaos and realspace across the galaxy. The Cicatrix Maledictum. It split the galaxy in two and thousands of worlds were drawn into the warp. The warp *expanded* and this expansion powered up Crthar. In the same time, chaos suddenly had millions of new possibilitys to play, so the attention of the 4 chaos gods got diverted from the great game to gaining new worlds in the Cicatric Maledicum. Slaneshes hordes poured out of the dark palace and swarmed countless worlds. And there was his chance. Unguarded. And unattended. Untortured. Just for a split second. That was all he needed. He Smashed his shackles and escaped the Palace. Now free he is ever growing from new and fresh power. And he envys the big gods. Oh how he envys them. He wants their power. He wants it all. Everything. For he is expansion. He is control. He is a very paranoid god. Holding everything he has with a greed without a match. He supports his followers with iron wills that enable them to endure impossible feets to obtain material goods and territory. And the more they control, the more he controls through them. Free Will is no more. He is the god of Dictators. Of Enslavers. Of Abusers. And he wants all. Ok that is all I have right now. It was a little thought experiment I had during Quarantine. Please tell me what you think. And if you have Ideas for Crthar or other Minor chaos gods, please feel free to share them. :) Take care and stay healthy!

Actually I think Nurgle is more associated with relief than Slaanesh is. Slaanesh is about pleasure and gratification, while with Nurgle you can finally take a break and let things be.

I have a theory. 40 K is the past fantasy (AOS) is the future. Because slannesh didn’t exist until the fall of the eldar yet you have slanneshi armies in AOS so in the 90th millennium there is still war just fought with magic and blades and as always Chaos

All chaos gods have positives and negatives. Khorne may be bloodshed and death (but not necessarily pain), he’s also the one representing honesty and strength. Slaanesh represents addiction and suffering and the taboo, but also pleasure and art. Nurgle represents plague and grossnes, but also orderly cycles. Living, growing old, dying. Hes the one that represents nature the best. This kind of thing applies to tzeetch as well but im tired of typing and want to get to the point which is that again, 40k has no black or white, just shades of grey. Even chaos is not completely black.
