It is implied that this Grimlock is a seperate person to the grimlock seen in Fall of Cybertron, who is more in line with G1 Grimlock. It's worth noting that in the 2001 RID, there was also a Black and Green Grimlock, although he was an excavator and part of a 4 part combiner called, Landfill, instead of a Dinosaur.

Robots in Disguise (2015) takes place at least a couple of years after Prime. Long enough to restore most of the planet's infrastructure and for the citizens to return, along with a new generation of Cybertronians (Strongarm and Sideswipe(?)) to be born. By the way, this series has a less serious tone than Prime and is more merchandise-driven. Just a heads up. Most of the Decepticons on the Alchemor are animal-like, either in their alternate mode or in their robot modes, mostly being subspecies of Cybertronians (like Insecticons). It kinda makes sense, given in this continuity the Deceptions were formed from the mostly surpassed masses of Cybertron. It's confirmed that this Grimlock is a separate character from the Grimlock that appeared in the Fall of Cybertron game. It's apparently a common name among the new Dinobots. When this Grimlock appeared in Rescue Bots Academy, his backstory was fleshed out further, revealing that he previously went by the name Steelwall before he went by Grimlock, distinguishing him from the other Grimlock even more. I think the Dinobots in this show are the result of either the new generation of Cybertronians being born with and/or some bots simply deciding to take on dinosaur alternate mode.

In TFA, the War for Cybertron ended long ago and Optimus isn't the battle hardened wise leader during a time of war, but an inexperienced leader of a small group of autobots with a desire to be a hero during a time of peace, little did he know what he was getting himself into.

​@ReactZones I thought Transformers rescue bots was childish at first but even though it really is it somehow has it's own charm to it that can just grow on you, plus in the end of every season there is something that's pretty cool, not like amazing but still pretty cool also through out the show it does have its moments, their not as cool as Transformers Prime but their allright, I just like to think of it as Transformers trying something different even if it is childish also it connects to Transformers RID 2015 in a few episodes, they don't show it in Transformers RID 2015 but it does connect it just only shows you it connecting in Transformers rescue bots, also it's important to know these are on a handful of episodes in the show, also blades in Transformers rescue bots becomes friends with bumblebee, also like Transformers Prime and Transformers RID 2015 plus Transformers rescue bots is a part of the aligned continuity, finaly Transformers rescue bots took a page out of Transformers Prime's book by having a few major human villans for the rescue bots, also Transformers rescue bots has 4 seasons, look I'm not trying to force you to watch Transformers rescue bots and if it seems like that then im sorry, its just that im trying to tell you that even if Transformers rescue bots is childish it does have its moments so don't judge something if you haven't tried it. However if you have watched it already and you think it's childish then I have no problem with it. Finally I only wrote this down because most people judge things before they give them a chance so in case you or someone is like that I hope this shows that you should always give something a chance before you judge it.

I should mention Megatron is not gonna be in this series physically but he is gonna be mentioned quite a bit weather it be name dropped, flashbacks, or just jokes. The Creators thought TFP Movie had a fitting end for his character so they didn’t wanna undue all of that but having him be the main villian. They did mention however that Megatron now coming to a new understanding wants to do his own thing away from Cybertron. But trust me you’ll still enjoy plenty of evil characters 🙏

I understand why people didn’t like this show, but having grown up on the content from the Aligned continuity (Cybertron games/novels, TFP, Rescue Bots etc.) I still love this show, and will gladly go back to rewatch it if you continue this series.

A little bit of history: the Aligned continuity began with the War for Cybertron video game, which told how Megatron poisoned Cybertron with Dark Energon (it had a different origin there, and different effects) and how Optimus and crew managed to stop it but had to leave Cybertron while Primus shut down to purge himself of the corruption. It was followed by Fall of Cybertron, which showed the Autobots building the Ark and the Decepticons eventually turning Trypticon into the Nemesis and their journey into the space bridge that brought them to Earth. The Prime series was meant to follow them closely with the Transformers being on Earth, but the people making the show were really resistant to that and wanted to do what they wanted, which is why Prime deviates from the games a lot, barring some shared material. The Dinobots were introduced in FoC as the Lightning Strike Coalition, and were captured by Shockwave and the Insecticons to be experimented on to turn them into powerful warriors with dinosaur alt modes to serve Megatron. You get to play as Grimlock for a good chunk of the story and eventually he gets pulled into a collapsing space bridge, and from there he and the other Dinobots kind of vanish from the story. Now, the Grimlock in Robots in Disguise is NOT the same Grimlock from FoC. Originall he wasn't even going to be Grimlock, but a Stegosaurus Dinobot. He was changed to Grimlock because of Age of Extinction, which also had its own Grimlock. And because of the cartoon studios not playing nice with the continuity, the Dinobots as we know them are game-only and this Grimlock is a separate character. Which sucks because it would have been nice having the whole team in the cartoons, but we had to wait until Cyberverse for that to happen.

the storyline is pretty good for the most part. the only gripe i had when i first saw it was the art style because it made it look more like for children but other than that its a good series to watch 🙂

My biggest issues with RID15 are the facts that one, they completely ruined Optimus’s sacrifice and what it meant; two, they made Bumblebee act like an ungrateful little kid; three, literally every episode is just Strongarm and Sideswipe not getting along and then making up in the end only for the cycle to continue to next episode; and four, Grimlock and all of the animal cons just.. don’t make sense. It could have been so much better than what it was. The only good characters are Russel, Danny, Fixit, Optimus (albeit the slander he faces is horrendous in this show), and future members from Team Prime that show up in separate seasons. The animation definitely isn’t bad though.

In terms of the three shows that you said you were gonna watch, here’s how I’d rank them: 1. Animated is definitely considered the best, I haven’t watched all of it but I’ve seen a lot of major moments and it does look pretty good 2. RID (Robots in Diguise) I watched like the first season when I was 10 but even then I wasn’t too invested in it but I did find it to be relatively entertaining and some of the ideas were fun 3. I’ve placed Earthspark last purely because it feels like the one that’s closest to Rescue bots, and it just looks UGLY AF 😂 sorry Earthspark fans but the faces of every character make me want to get healthcare in Canada

RID certainly isn't the greatest of all the shows, but I think it is important to also remember the target audience being little kids who may not have ever seen Prime. I remember this show came out and I was maybe 11 and I adored it because Bumblebee led. It was huge to me, as he is my favorite character but he is also such a lovable character, his personality is something kids love, and his team have those lovable, young personalities, more so than the Prime characters. But looking at the show in a less kid like view, deep down there are lots of bits that I think are huge, specifically the growth of Bumblebee's character and the growth of his leadership while getting past his fear of not being like Optimus. This show isn't the greatest, but for what it is, it's enjoyable and funny and still has the deeper bits to it just hidden more under the comedy aspect of it. The growth of all of the team is perfection to me and enough to make me adore the show even if it isn't the greatest. Sorry bit all over the place trying to explain my thoughts on it, But I can't wait to see your reaction to this show and I hope you enjoy it!!

Honestly, I don't get why people don't like RID, its lighter tone is a nice pallete cleanser after Prime, definitely think it's worth continuing. Animated is really good, like on par with (I think its better than) Prime good. It can hit the lighthearted tones of RID while still taking itself seriously, and hit the dark (sometimes darker) tones of Prime. Its definitely the least repetative of the three. The downside is that it's in its own continuity, so almost nothing you learned from Prime/RID will carry over. I can't say much about Earthspark as I haven't seen it yet. But from what I understand, it's another series that takes place post-war like RID. It's also in its own continuity but it takes bits and pieces of lore from other continuities. Also it says queer rights, so that's neat!

I say one of RiD's 2 biggest failures was that in succeeded TFP. Personally I think the show has awesome moments and could've done well on its own if it was made first, and TFP was created as a prequel. But this way, everyone held it to the same standards as TFP, everyone that is, except the writers. The other big failure, IMO is the consistency issue. Biggest question I have for the show starting off is why tf is Bumblebee holding a dinky little pistol when he canonically has two plasma cannons in each arm? No consistency. 14:36 You assume that Optimus was the last extant Prime. He was not. I also knew he would show up at some point, but I wasn't expecting it to be the SECOND episode. There will be other Mini-Cons, including one we have already seen in TFP. Finally, Underbite is a Chompazoid, which are able to convert metal directly into cybermatter. He's also a triple-changer, with a robot mode, a beastmode, and a vehicle mode.

The prime stuff will kick in in season 2 and so on but pls u gotta keep this series up. Never watched it in full but I always viewed this as the Beast Machines to Prime's Beast Wars- an inferior follow-up to a legendary CGI Transformers show, albeit inferior for very different reasons than Machines. The animation's super wonky compared to Prime and as you saw there's a lot more focus on comedy, mainly just dealing with the escaped Decepticon prisoner of the day. Still, it's nice to see the newly-voiced Bumblebee leading his own team in the same 'verse and I enjoy the characters Strongarm and Steeljaw. Of your remaining Transformers media choices I'd recommend this one the most. Just remember it's aimed for a younger audience than TFP.

I feel you. It's all for kids and teens at the end of the day. I don't mind comedy and, in fact, I enjoy it in my TF content. From what I understand, this has similar comedy to Ninjago.

I could never understand why people never like the show i mean it okay but i remember watching it, and pretty freaking nice and had some decent fight scene and some times i would say, they were better then primes fight scene a LITTLE BIT putting that in bold caption. And what this whole thing about not liking because prime came back which kinda dumb in my opinion because we all know prime always come back hasbo is not about kill of there main money maker and best character

Hmmm. I probably won’t watch much of your reactions to this show. Its a real big downgrade from Prime and they do Optimus Dirty. He’s treated like an old man that needs to be protected instead of the extreme badass we know his as. Also was extremely stupid despite being back on Earth not once does Bumblebee make any attempt to see Rath or let him know he’s on Earth. Ya know his BEST FRIEND!!. No human characters from prime show up. Also really hate how the babied up the show. Most combat is melee focused now because no once has actual guns built in to them anymore because they had to make it more kid friendly. They just got those weak ass pistols that they barely use. Hell, the cant even use the word scrap anymore because i guess that was too vulgar for childrens fragile little minds. Instead they say scrud. This is why modern cartoons suck. They all got to be for 5 year olds
