If his mother didn't argue with him concerning his birthday present Elvis would never had existed! It just goes to show how one small action could affect the course of history.

I have visited as a young kid there. My grandparents asked me where I wanted to stop on our road trip and I said Elvis' house. We went to this home first and I was shocked to see how tiny it was and that so many people lived in a tiny place. Then we went to Graceland. Such a crazy jump!

Thank you for taking us on this awesome roadtrip! I have always been an elvis fan. I was 11 when he died. My 5th grade teacher took all of the girls from class on an end of school field trip. We were on the road when the announcement of his death came over the radio. I stared out the window with tears in my eyes.

Elvis was my 7th cousin, twice removed. My Dad was born in Tupelo in 1930, but I'm related to Elvis on my mother's side of the family. Dad wouldn't let me listen to his music until he found out he was born in Tupelo also. Suddenly, he started listening to Elvis' music too. LOLOL!!

Great video, I really enjoyed it. I have been to Graceland a few times, but I’ve never taken the official tour. I’m a truck driver and I used to pull up right in front of the mansion in my 18 wheeler and park in that small little parking area right up next to the guard shack and wall that borders the property. My wife and I would just sit there and kind of take it all in. We’d get out and walk around a bit. I was fascinated by the gate, just knowing that he went in and out of it so many times during his life almost gave me goosebumps. It truly is quite a place.

Back in 2009 me,my mom and some friends (Including a elvis tribute artist) went to Graceland to see elvis's house, then we drove down to tupelo and saw his birthplace, we went to this church (probably where elvis went when he was young) And get this: As we were leaving Graceland, Priscilla Presley came in a Mercedes bus and one of the people we were with said" we should've stayed and say hello to Priscilla Presley"(or something like that) but believe me it was so awesome seeing the house that elvis lived in, and I kid you not.I felt elvis's presence when I stepped in Graceland

Rock N Roll King thanks to the Rock N Roll Queen , Elvis' mother for getting him that guitar. I love this kind of stuff. Thank you for the video. People can argue about Elvis' and where it originates and why he was given attention rather than others, but you what, that was times, and you still need to thank Elvis for bringing that music to the attention of a white audience , because without him, who knows where Rock N Roll would've been. And I totally agree with you, Elvis Presley, John Lennon, and Jim Morrison were the best

That $7.90 for Elvis's first guitar may not sound like much, but that's a helluva lot of money for po folks just coming out of the Depression. My daddy was born the year after Elvis, and he told me about being a kid growing up in the 40s. He and my aunt would get a quarter allowance every week (mind you, they earned that quarter, lol) and would go to the theater. That quarter got him a double feature with newsreels and cartoons, a Coke, popcorn, candy bar, and he'd have money left over. I miss daddy, he was a musician and his band played on the same Louisiana Hayride that Elvis did. Daddy always had high praise for Elvis, said he was one of the nicest people he'd ever met.

Went there back in 2018. It was remarkable. The house is tiny inside. It goes from the living room in the front to the kitchen in the back. That’s it. The church was actually relocated from its original spot from just down the street. I remember walking down the hill from statues then realizing I left my cell phone up there. Yeah, the walk back up was exhausting.
