I love how stressed Renard gets in this scene. He knows exactly who committed the murder but his parental instincts towards Diana are keeping him locked up in his own Police Precinct.

If he tried to tell anyone I don't think anyone would believe him. His 10 year old daughter strangled a fully grown woman. Toxicology showed no signs of sedatives. He'd probably get tossed in the state hospital and declared unfit to stand trial. That would torpedo any attempt to run for an elected office.

I hate what they did to renard’s character, making him evil was unnecessary and it didn’t even pay off. They couldn’t commit to it and it ended after 3 episodes into season 6. Not only did he not need to be a villain, he didn’t even make a good villain. Love this show though, and Renard

I think it’s always been hinted that Sean is a selfish person drawn to power. We see that early, with the coin, and we see it in other moments throughout the show when he does something selfishly that puts others in a shitty position. I don’t think they made him _evil_ so much as they showed you what his greed was capable of. He’s not a villain, he’s the pawn to one (hence why he goes down after Bonaparte does, for the most part). Renard wasn’t really evil so much as a tool for evil, which we already knew that Zauberbeists could be (not sure about the spelling but I don’t wanna google right now). Just my two cents.

@@gabbytheartfriend Agreed...I don't see him as a villain just someone who might be drawn to the darkside. That said, I actually enjoyed his arc and the fact they didn't keep him as a villain forever. This scene was excellent.

They do mention in the lore that both Hexenbiests and Zauberbiests are drawn to power, both literally and metaphorically by nature. Adalind herself hinted at it when her powers returned and she didn't want them back, how having access to those supernatural powers made someone think and feel. I do believe they were sloppy at executing it but this likely happened when they knew the future of the show was possibly going to be cut short (which it then did) and maybe accelerated the timeline starting from the second last season.

Just before COVID hit there was talk of a spinoff but that WAS 2yrs ago so the studios may have moved on from the idea. Logically, it would've picked up with the kids, where the last episode ended but ya never know. Might be that they'd do some sorta prequel type thing with the Grimms from 800yrs ago and the 'magic stick'. Either way, less likely than ever to happen now 😥

Maybe it never came up in conversation - Nick killed so many in that fight, and so much was going on at the time, it was just chaos, and they were trying to avoid cell-phone use. I'm trying to think if there was any reason for Nick to mention the death of Bonaparte, other than as revenge for his injuring Eve. The stuff with Adalind was probably too personal for Nick to discus it. The subject may have come up later as part of the background for the later "Forget-Me-Knot" negotiations, but I don't think they knew about Renard killing Bonaparte during the interview, as they ask Renard where Bonaparte is.
