Pucara it means "high fortress" in Quechua (native) language. The ascent is at the end.. Pucará few were deployed in Malvinas/Falklands, its a ground support aircraft. Thanks for the video, cool!

Another trivia the canons for the pucaras came from the Gloster meteors (they were re-barreled) The original design had four canons and no machine guns and more range. Whit out the space for the spare motor but was modified to accommodate the USAF coin specifications

While there are some obvious limitations that mod devs are saddled with, the quality of these mods are very much approaching the level of the paid aircraft. It is really impressive what these guys are doing. Thumbs all the way up.

I cant stop flying it since yesterday. A great and much expected add to DCS! A very tough aircraft not appropriate to Falklands/Malvinas scenario (they didnt have air support, cant take off or land well due the nature of the terrain, and it was a perfect target for the Harriers). The british military really took seriously the job to destroy many as possible, as a anti-insurgent aircraft was a threat to troops and light vehicles. But war aside, a well promising product if not wasnt for bad politics.. Glad you like the Pucara 🍻!

Couple of months back you carried out a simulation of the 1982 Falklands War: The Battle Of San Carlos Bay. Any chance you could run the scenario again but this time assume the raid on Pebble Island by the SAS never took place and throw the now six surviving Pucará's into the mix?

“Freno” means brake, that gauge indicates brake pressure. On top, the two gauges indicate tire pressure. And the big gauge below the flaps switch indicates hydraulic pressure. The last gauge on the left is the pressure of the hydraulic system(which is weird because there is already a gauge for that)

For the jettison switch, right position is for all armament, and up position is for center armament. Finally left position is for both wings

Sure but disappointing the flight model is based of AI aircraft lol, not the dev's fault but if it doesn't fly like the real one what's the point? DCS is built on your above average combat flight sim including the FM.

As a user of Razbam products, i hope they dont make a flyable one. I prefer a community mod, that the aircrafts they had made. The MiG-19 is light years from the 15, and take off and land the Harrier VTOL its easier than operate my laundry machine.

That plane actually got Argentina's one and only air to air victory of the Falklands War. During the Battle of Goose Green, two Purcaras working in tandem managed to shoot down the Royal Marine helicopter that was attempted to med-evac Lt. Col H. Jones. Only one of the two planes made it back home though. It was also a Pucara that was the first aircraft of the war to be by shot down in air to air, curtesy of Sea Harrier pilot Nigel "Sharkey" Ward, though it interestingly took quite a few cannon hits. The very first Stinger missile kill would a Pucara as well, curtesy of the Royal SAS.

The plane got at least 4 confirmed kills: 1 scout with cannon/mg, the "kill" is very nice pinted under the cockpit, left side of the plane. 1 more Scout "dropped down" into a small water lake (in spanish is called water mirror), after overfly him so close that the chopper was push down into a kind of forced landing. And 2 Sea Kings with a salvo of rockets. I dont remember but maybe 1 gazelle too, some sources call for Pucara, and others from infantry/commandos. Sharkey dont need "a few" cannon hits, he need ALL 250 rounds to shoot him down, even with 1 engine in flames (aim-9L) the plane keep flying under control (the pilot said "yes the left engine was blow up and on fire, but i keep flying under control, so why to eject?"). Sharkey repeat this tactic vs the C-130, first 1 aim-9L and then shoot guns into the cockpit, some RN pilots dont like that actitud with an already doom airplane, leaving no possibility to the crew to bail out.

yes pucara can use some missiles. but not all versions of pucara can use it. IA-58C Pucará Charlie: Single-seat version designed to take advantage of lessons learned during the Falklands War, with increased capability in anti-shipping and anti-helicopter missions. Forward cockpit removed, with additional 30 mm DEFA cannon supplementing existing gun armament, and capability to carry Matra R550 Magic air-to-air missiles and Martin Pescador air-to-surface missiles underwing. Increased armour protection fitted, and more advanced EW system suite. Single prototype converted, flying on 30 December 1985, but plans to convert fifteen more for the Argentine Air Force abandoned in 1988 due to lack of funding. I think htat modern versions of Pucara can also use the old Martin pescador and the new CITEFA AS-25K (the Argentine equivalent of the AGM-65 Maverick).

I don't know about the A-10 analogy as this thing is more COIN than CAS. I think it compares better with the OV-10 Bronco. Just my opinion.

I'd suggest the VKB pedals if you haven't tried them yet. All metal construction and I haven't had any problems from them

Hey cap, I just noticed that if you turn the auto rudder to off and the emer speed brake to close in the Super Tucano, you don't loose speed in turns (you do but it's not much). So you might want to try a dogfight with another warbird. You will however give up the ability to do negative g(but i dont think you want to anyways). I tried it with humans and bots on expert. Even with the cheating AI I never lost :P mind you I use a keyboard
