WRT su57 in Ukraine war, I can tell you with absolute certainty they are not flying in Ukraine. If they were, the Ukrainians would have been shooting them down already. Does anyone really believe the SU57 will live up to any of the hype? I think we all know it's going to turn out to have the stealth of an a10, the real world performance of (maybe) an su35, and be flown and maintained by people who do not want to be there, and who work in a military that exists to facilitate corruption, with fighting a war way further down the list well past parades and job creation. Furthermore, those pilots and mechanics arent even getting the fruits of that corruption, but are just the ones getting shot at.

Lol finally after a year of watching this channel I get to see the f-22 and f-35 operating as they would in real life. Absolutely fantastic. Its always been silly to me that a modern trillion dollar plane could be bested by something that was built when the berlin wall was still up but obviously thats no more. i know im gonna sound like that guy, but the f15 program was just as expensive as the f35 program the only reason the f35 is called trillion dollar plane is because it takes over 2000 aircraft the maintenance the crew and engineers salary and other stuff for like the next 30 years. if you do that for any other high end military program you will get that sort of cost.

US stealth bombers were shot down with 1970s soviet sams in yugoslavia. I've never came across anything in history to judge an f22 or even an f35 capabilities. I read that the US is already looking for a new generation jet already which suggests that the f22 and 35 is not the unmatched ruler of the skies

SU-57 is definitely in between true stealth and low observability, you can see clearly where they lack full RAM coating on leading wing edges. Russia has nowhere near the money to maintain stealth planes let alone build a fleet of low observablility aircraft

The Felon is a hype job , much like the Checkmate and Berkut . I have heard that the Felon's RCS is above the Flanker in the above 30° , below 20° . Remember aircraft like the Forger and Russian naval ships like the Moskva , everyone really needs to be questioning actual Russian numbers and claims . 2 Russian hypersonic missiles were found washed-up on shore and are now in NATO hands , turns out travelling distances over 100nm is a problem and the missile has a good chance of simply falling , they do not like travelling at that high speed over any real distance .

The reason there’s no RAM on the leading edges is because there are radar antennae on the wing leading edges. It’s not like they could only afford RAM for 98% of the plane, and they built half a dozen planes.

Something in the series has recently become a format: we shoot at bots that have exposure warning system, but they fly at maximum speed in order to dodge at the last moment and crash! It would be possible to break people into teams: half stupid NPCs, half people with brains who can adapt to the style of combat (PVE with PVP elements, as it was in fleet battles)!

They still can't figure out how stealth works. The radar cross section is no bigger than a large bird. On an F-35 and F-22. It's doubtful the radar aboard any Russian or Chinese aircraft, even at very close ranges.

@@emmata98 if no one aims at him, then yes, and if he launches a missile (with an active radio beam guidance head) at the su-35, then the radiation warning system should notify the pilot! Also, the f-35 is not visible from the point of view of its exposure to third-party radars, but if its radar is turned on, then it can be tracked (not aim with a rocket, but track its position!)!

The F-35 has the DAS which. ..... I _think_ ..... stands for Distributed Aperture System (if that is wrong someone tell me). It's probably what they were talking about; the pilot wears a helmet customized to his/her head proportions. There is a HUD built in which comes from sensors mounted around the aircraft, so the pilot can use DAS to see through the cockpit floor or look around in a full 360° view. The jet does have AESA as well, but the pilot sees most stuff on the DAS HUD. What doesn't go to DAS goes to the big touch screen 'instrument panel.' With all that, the pilot of a F-35 has a sort of 'God's Eye' view.
@DavidRichardson153
@DavidRichardson153 Жыл бұрын
Both the F-22 and the F-35 have DAS, and don't worry, you got the name right. Bear in mind that your description is a little off, though it is not by much. The helmet has been customized for each pilot for since the days of the F-4, and the same goes for the mask. Granted, the customization goes even deeper now due to the HMD (helmet-mounted display), though the HUD (heads-up display) is still present and displays all of the same information as before, at least for the F-22. What the HMD displays is much simpler and less filled in information than the HUD, but yes, it can function as a 360° viewer and targeting system. However, what the HMD displays from the DAS is only what was processed by the avionics. There is no 360° camera feed, as that is an rather extreme amount of data to process into something that can be described as a virtual window (and setting up onboard 360° cameras that do not breach stealth is still elusive right now). The most you would see is the targeting box that you should already be familiar with from the HUD. So if the enemy has good-enough stealth, the DAS might not be able to pick them out, especially if their detection remains mostly if not entirely passive. So the DAS HMD will give a sort-of "God's Eye" view like you said, but another thing to bear in mind is that the bulk of the data that goes into the HMD, specifically the data that does not pertain to the plane itself, will come via datalinks from AWACS and satellite feeds. Theoretically, F-22 and F-35 datalinks could build a decent picture between each other's AESAs if there is no other support, but they still can't compete with what an AWACS or satellite can provide. It would probably be more accurate to call it a "Demigod's Eye" view, but that is also probably being pedantic.
@aandrews7635
@aandrews7635 Жыл бұрын
@@DavidRichardson153 Data from AWACS feed into the F35 and is overlaid onto the HMD, as well as HUD. The DAS provides virtually real time 360 view to the pilot from the cockpit, not counting shared PIP, thermal, etc. views from other linked HDMs. There's 6+ IR cams that provide AR so they can actually see through the cockpit, I worked on this project. We also track pupil orientation so the HDM displays data in the correct orientation as well. If I look down, I see the ground in our helmets. Perhaps you're referring to an older gen.
@DavidRichardson153
@DavidRichardson153 Жыл бұрын
@@aandrews7635 The AWACS data feed was the most obvious. A massive plane (at least when compared to the typical sizes of fighters) whose sole job is to electronically monitor and track everything is going to provide much more data, raw and especially processed, than a bunch of fighters and multiroles, as it is kind of implied with its name. I did say that theoretically, the fighters and multiroles could substitute for the role of the AWACS for the data feed but only to a degree. I threw in the satellites because they all have links to them, with communications and GPS being the most apparent, and the data from the satellite links would undoubtedly be integrated, even if they are ultimately overshadowed by the rest of the data. Granted, I probably was thinking of an older gen, and hardly any tech, if any at all, would stay just as it is across generations. Pupil tracking was certainly not in what I knew of, which was admittedly outdated, but I also knew then that it was in the works, so if it was not already included by now, it would be sometime soon. From the sounds of it, it almost seems as though they might start getting rid of the transparent canopy and just going with virtual windows in future generations. Probably a little too sci-fi here, but so was hypersonic flight for a time, so anything could go.

It's always interesting - the whole fixing little inaccuracies like missile range and what not, can make some huge differences in the scenarios. They've come a long, long ways from slider bars with basically 'handicap' or difficulty scales. Which is something we've likely realized in practice in the last few years, there are real handicaps - command structure lag etc- that will cripple what is supposed to be a system with a certain effectiveness - into one with a substantially lower effect. That's kind of hard to model though without introducing a bit of random number generation with response times vs a target, whether a unit is actually on, or whether it actually works when otherwise everything else went to plan

The depths Damp will sink to were fully on show. The double entendre flowed quite merrily. Although he ought to take lessons from Frankie Howerd on timing. A few basic errors 'slipped' through. Simba was an impressive commanding officer for the Fat Amy's. Promotion now feels inevitable to Master Sergeant.... If he can stay sober and out of Damp's gutter he will go far. Minor lapses under Damp's influence withstanding he is an outstanding member of the team. Cap is turning into a software engineer, a career no-one, including Cap, foresaw. At this rate we will lose him to BAe missile division. Within 5 years he will design the Meteor II. It will reach mach 10 in stealth configuration with a reach of 250 miles. As a result will receive a knighthood for single handedly neutralising the Russian airforce. King Charles III Congratulates him for his supper massive pole. Unfortunately today Grump was rather muted. Possibly due to attacking his former homeland and potentially close relatives. It brought new feeling to the term blue on blue or in this case Grumptastic on Grumpnicki. And no one wants to see fratricide.

Your friendly F22 pilot here with some inputs on flying the raptor (sorry it’s the instructor pilot in me) take it or leave it but it’ll help you guys tactically; 1. Assuming the F22 RCS is modeled somewhat correctly…. F22 doesn’t “notch”…. In fact, there is no notch when fighting AESA radars…. F22 you shoot at shot range, when active execute an out maneuver and turn cold. NO AB, Mil power 5-10 def nose low. 2. No need for AB on takeoff for either the F22 or F35… save gas. 3. F22 fly Line abreast 15-20NM apart at 0.9 IMN (fuel efficiency). 4. Call “Commit” when leading edge is within 80nm to F22. Max AB to 1.2 IMN then Mil power and climb holding 1.2 IMN…. At shot range with nose above horizon you’ll get the best WEZ. 4. Targeting priorities: Side, High, Fast, leading edge…. 1 missile per Bandit (shoot- assess - shoot) 5. At 80 NM commit if red range presentation turn #3&4 Cold via a “raptor 3&4 pump Left/right”… cold element continues 0.9 IMN level turn to Cold while monitoring hit element targeting. 6. After hot element “raptor 1 active, raptor 2 active” (you don’t make these calls in real life…) call “raptor 1 & 2 out Left/Right”…. Mil power 5-10 def nose low….continue “grinder” until red range presentation dies/manuevers to an azimuth presentation. 7. once Red azimuth…. Reform the 4 ship to Line abreast and either “banzai” = commit to merge or Continue launch and leave. 8. Banzai when (not all inclusive) 1:3 ratio achieved and weapons do to so (1 X F22 against 3 red). Weapons include 120 and or 9x. You guys do a great job and make me laugh… love watching. Try a few of these real tactics and you’ll see an increase in kills and decrease in death…

The main issue with the SU-57 is there are only 10-12 of them in existence(all prototypes as the only serial production Su-57 crashed on it's maiden flight), and none have ever seen combat. One thing we do know is they wanted the Felon to have the latest Izdeliye-30 engines, but it appears there was trouble with the fit and designers had to fall back on the older Saturn AL-41F1 which gives it a massive infrared signature. Defeating detection and weapons lock isn't just about radar. It's also about infrared heat signature and the 4th-generation engines designed for non-stealth aircraft employed in the Su-57 aren't good at masking either as the F-22's in Syria saw the few SU-57's Russia was testing there both on infrared and radar. And as far as stealth, as far as we can tell it is not as stealthy as the F-35, but Sukhoi wasn't aiming for that, Instead they're just trying to make the Su-57 a sneaky and capable fighter with bombing capabilities. India was partnered with Russia in 2007 to develop what would become the SU-57 but pulled out in 2018 do to rumors "the fighter it produced simply wasn't stealthy enough to survive in highly contested airspace". But in the end, any and all breakdown of the Su-57's capabilities should be taken with a grain of salt, as there just isn't enough real world data. Sources: "While they were intended to field an advanced engine system designed specifically for the aircraft’s stealth role, delays in the engine’s development have hindered progress. It’s now expected that each Su-57 delivered to the Russian Air Force for the foreseeable future will come fitted with the Saturn AL-41F1 engine" ~Sandboxx June 3, 2021 "Rather than relying on stealth, a field of technology in which the Russians may be lagging behind, Sukhoi has incorporated stealth into the design of an otherwise capable platform, producing a fighter that may not be sneakier than an F-35 but remains sneaky enough to cause some real problems for opponents, even if only on the drawing board." ~Steve Trimble Aviation Expert and Defense Editor for Aviation Week Jun 9, 2021 "Rumors swirled that India had given up the PAK FA program because the fighter it produced simply wasn't stealthy enough to survive in highly contested airspace" ~Business Insider Jun 9, 2021

Hey cap, could you do a scenario of the of Samar? It would be a verses battle between the Japanese 4 battleships, 6 heavy cruisers, 2 light cruisers, and 11 destroyers, and the ragtag Americans 3 destroyers, 4 destroyer escorts, and 6 escort carriers, along with 300-400 planes which have very limited, to no anti ship ordinance (basically just torpedoes, and a random assortment of other weapons). I think it would be a very cool scenario for the grim reapers to try.

Great fun ! Sorry to have to say though @ mach 2 the R.A.M. on a stealth would be ruined\destroyed. Unbelievable but true, R.A.M. can't handle temps above 450 fahrenheit and the skin gets much hotter (up to over 1000 degrees) due to atmospheric friction. They're working on a new ceramic based R.A.M. that can handle temps over 3000 degrees but it's not in use yet.

Every time I watch one of these videos I really do feel like a viewer that is highly valued. Not sure why, but I appreciate the sentiment. Edited to add: one missing aspect of this redesign that I'm not sure you could ever properly model is the F-35 radar system is also a VERY capable electronic warfare system. It can do a lot to degrade enemy radar, weapon guidance links, even radio coms can be attacked. And because it's frequency agile and has multiple emitters it's also a very low probability of intercept system that is difficult for enemy RWR or ELINT systems to detect. These features also make it extremely difficult to jam without broad spectrum barrage jamming.

@Grim Reapers There's a leaked document floating around that is apparently Sukhoi's patent application for the Su-57. They list the RCS of the Su-57 as between 0.1m2 and 1m2 in that document. That's basically the same RCS as a clean Super Hornet/Gripen/Typhoon. That's where the "Su-57 has the same RCS as a Super Hornet" thing came from. This is probably pretty accurate, as Russia likely doesn't actually have the tech it needs to build a true stealth aircraft, and there are several design flaws in the Su-57 that hurt its ability to be a stealthy aircraft, such as the lack of an S-bend in the air intakes, which leaves the fan blades of its engines exposed. So if GR is making an accurate Su-57 mod, then it's RCS should be set, at smallest, to 0.1m2.
@alekosalekadis6095
@alekosalekadis6095 Жыл бұрын
How you know they dont have the tech? Su 47 was stealth aircraft witch su57 based. And reports says in syria su35 radar detect a f22 so.... this is simulator game but not officiall mods. Mods are inaccurate. Thats why f22 is still mod and not officiall dcs plane.
@djzoodude
@djzoodude Жыл бұрын
@@alekosalekadis6095 how do I know they don't have the tech? Two reasons, 1) Russia is way behind the US in almost every technical field, and especially in stealth tech because of reason 2) the US spent literally decades developing stealth technology under top secret conditions. There's no evidence Russia has spent any time developing stealth technology until the Su-57, and no evidence they hacked top secret American data gain the ability to build their stealth jet like the Chinese did. Also, the Su-47 is not in any way a stealth jet. It was a technology demonstrator that was a testbed for new technologies (to the Russians) like fly-by-wire controls. All you have to do is look at the jet and you'll see bumps and protrusions everywhere, as well as hemispherical air intakes which massively increase its RCS. It wasn't a stealth aircraft and was never meant to be one. Also, it had forward swept wings. The Su-57 incorporates a few technologies the Su-47 pioneered, but the Su-57 is not at all based on the Su-47, it's based on the Su-35. Claims that an Su-35 picked up an F-22 on radar are suspect, because the Russian government is known to lie. But let's say it happened. How close were the two aircraft? Did the F-22 have it's Luneberg lens mounted so it could be picked up for deconfliction purposes, as they often do? These are important things to know when we talk about seeing a stealth aircraft on radar. Regardless, I can't find any reports about a Russian jet detecting an F-22 on radar. The Russian government claims the Su-35 can detect stealth aircraft, but they claim a lot of things that aren't true.
