tip: you can remove lampposts (and trees) using a zone and the trigger for 'removing scenary objects'. Creating a more... planned roadbase. :)

During a visit to the Bravala Airbase in Sweden back in the '80's I watched them do this for real - pretty impressive stuff it was too and you got it about right.

I live in the area, made for some pretty cool visuals when you caught a low, and I mean LOW, flying Viggen every now and then.. Now I live closer to the Gripen factory (40-ish km west from Norrköping where Bråvalla is located), being right in the flight path. I was awakened this morning by the glorious sound of a Volvo Aero RM12 kicking it's AB on.

A great idea when landing on roads, is to create one small-radius (10m) trigger zone at the start of the "road-runway" and one at the end. Then make a bigger trigger zone (~4km radius) around the landing area and make a triggered action in which once you enter that big trigger zone, two signaling flares will be fired. One green from the runway start and one red from its end (inside the 10m trigger zones). You can also record radio messages that will inform you about the flare launch. ManLo

The Viggen was built for this. Too bad not many flight simulators take that into account. It should also not be hard to make FARPs for helicopters and harriers the same way.

Can you build one with a TILS system truck? I think it was normal to use them on the road bases. The idea was to have several different road bases operating and even the pilots didn't really know which one they would be landing on for mission rearm, refuel. So they would get notice of that during mission. I think I have a map somewhere over the organization of a road base. You had areas further back where they could overhaul the whole aircraft (change the engine et cetera). Also if you really would like to study roadbases and the VIggen I recommend the "Flyg och Lotta museum"/"Viggenmuseum" in Östersund, Jämtland, Sweden.

sometimes DCS is weird, you were approaching at apparently 300kph-ish, and it felt like 100kph at most between the trees, that's so odd but thanks a lot for showing this :)

Refuelling works in multiplayer as a client, but no rearming :(

@Crit Fail, many roads in Sweden is very straight for like 1000 meters, thats because the base 90 system from the 80s-90s so the Swedish viggens always had a place to go and land on.

Normally in Sweden we have no knowledge as a pilot where the ground crew is, they moving all the time to new places, we only get LOLA where we can go down and rearm and refuel, from what we call " Jakt Ledare" I think you call it AWAK or Traffic controller, is this possible to do in DCS? and is it possible to have several GC in the game, if yes! how do the contact the Avak or traffic controller when they are on the new place and ready. greedings from the north of Thailand, I have to many ping to be flying with you, but I love to see you in action.

Hi Sir. I have not tried it yet, but my understanding is that the only controls we have over the GC is to tell them to re-located the the L1 LOLA currently set in the viggen. You can have multiple crews. e.g. GroundCrew1, GroundCrew2

Hey Cap, in multiplayer I don't get more than one Kneeboard page? Not tried singleplayer but in the files I only have the flightplan plage. I've never had the other pages? Do you know anything about that? Cheers.

I have Cap, see the weird thing is, I recent purchased the module 2 months ago and it came like it! On steam even when I verify files there is only ever that page... I've added some custom kneeboard pages and they work but I've never ever seen those other ones. I really want that cartridge selection page it would make my life so much easier... If you've got any ideas it would be appreciated but if not - thanks and brilliant tutorial as always.
