Love the videos. One issue though, when rippling bombs the impacts are computed to be around the centre of the stick. For instance, if you have five bombs in a 75 foot ripple, the MIDDLE of the stick will be on the impact point you have selected. There will be two short bombs, one 75 feet short, the other 150 short, and two longer bombs with the same but long. SO best ain at the centre of the row of trucks. That's the only thing, love the videos, keep them coming I've learned lots.

These are SO much better than the official tutorials on KZbin. The guy on there assumes you've been to the USAF Ground School and doesn't explain ANYTHING. This is brilliant.

I'm pretty sure the tof is so you can make the countdown go slower or faster so your not rushed or have to remain on your run longer. It limits the exposure of the aircraft to AA and ground fire.
@CaptCamel2 жыл бұрын
you would use the offset if you had a low contrast target that is difficult to track, you can pick a spot with better contrast nearby, track that and set an offset for the impact

Dropping the CBU97 in "area mode", you should aim at the middle of the convoy - not at one end. Other wise nice and useful.
@TheDroppy685 жыл бұрын
"Area mode"? is there more than one mode for the 97's? Not being sarcastic, I genuinely wasn't aware there was any other modes, or how to change them.
@cmibm60225 жыл бұрын
When you lock up a target with the TP, you will see - low on the screen - the text "area". If you press TMS up short once more, it will change to "point" (once more - back to area). This feature is (as far as I am aware) not related to any particular bomb type. I have not tested the actual function, but I do know that using "point", I will hit the designated point (one tank) (wind and weather permitting). And trying to hit a group of tanks with CBU97/99, I will use "area", assuming the it will help spreading out the bombs over a greater AREA. I ASSUME that if you want to drop a trail of say Mk82s along a convoy in 1 drop, you need to be in area-mode - otherwise I ASSUME that the system will try to get all bombs right on the target point. I will test this out.
@EnzoFazzi4 жыл бұрын
@@cmibm6022 That's not quite right, Area and Point are the t-pod's tracking modes. Area keeps the camera set at the area you've targeted. Point track can 'lock' on to, for example, a vehicle and it'll continue to follow that vehicle. This means that you can drop laser guided bombs on moving targets with point track mode

I am confused about one thing. Maybe I missed where you said it in the video but, do you have to maintain a set heading for a CCRP run? I followed the instructions and tried from many angles to hit the target but I got no CCRP line. I think it only appeared when I was at the same heading that I set the target from.

As someone who owns most all the planes and helis and likes to jump around the A10 to me is by far the most complicated. The Russian helis are right up there but only because of the language issue. With the A-10 I can use the gun/rockets and ccip drop dumb bombs. Ohter than that the systems are just to deep for me who just wants to get his hour or 2 sim fix.

Hello Grim Reapers! I have practiced the use of "carpet bombing" with mk82's in CCIP mode. One thing I've noticed around it is that the bombs in that bomb employment approach tends to hit the ground before my "initial weapon release aimpoint" on the hud. CCRP on the other hand works very well with all the bombs striking within the area of interest. Do you have any idea if CCIP carpet bombing is even appliable or if there are any specific settings that needs to be done to make it "spot on"? Thanks!

@Grim Reapers How do you Pause mid-flight without hitting ESC and seeing a menu? Also how do you see the POV of the battlefield and the bomb? I know F6 is to follow the bomb, but you have some angles I've never been able to get before. Would you mind tellin how? Thanks!

Thank you for your tutorial series! Can you do a video on evading SAMs especially for the A10C? I always get eaten by SAMs because she is slow and clunky. I want to fly missions with SAMs, but my knowledge of how to evade them is just not enough.

I think that will belong in an "ECM" and "Chaff / flare" programming tutorial. I believe Cap touched this slightly on his RWR tutorial, but it is a complex enough topic that he may create a separate one just for this?

@@grimreapers Thanks for the answer, I guess what I was trying to get it was if you had it on point, would the bombs more likely go to the "point" instead of area in un-guided. Happy hunting.
