Just a tip for you guys, unimogs get their insane flex through the frame and very little from the suspension. The actual suspension is meant to carry the equipment or material a unimog is using ie. a backhoe or dump bed which means the offroad capability must still be there and it's thanks to the frame flex. That is why everything mounted on the frame has large bushings or similar material to accommodate flex. I love the project, but I don't want to see you ruin the capability or shear whatever you weld straight to the frame.
@CreatureBruhh2 жыл бұрын
when they started cutting it I cringed a little but I had hopes that they would do it right
@westman85272 жыл бұрын
Def a little sad they cut it up, but they will likely fo a full rollcage in thr future meaning they they have to upgrade suspension to it more similar to modern 4x4 suspension
@rolc82722 жыл бұрын
On unimogs the body and box are all 3 point mounted, never 4 points, that allows the frame to flex.. Also the coil springs are fine, but it's so much lighter that the original truck. And needs softer springs, possibly air bags would be nice, But no matter with such heavy wheels and axles compared to the body weight, it will still have problems....

Honestly I definitely prefer the older/regular style. It's just my opinion but there's no need to have a face on camera every time - a simple voiceover is sufficient, and preferred by myself. The bouncing back and forth kind of takes away from the video. If you need to do some kind of drawing/schematic to demonstrate something, that's perfectly fine. That's just my two cents. I'm about halfway through the video, and will edit if I change my mind. I still absolutely love your videos, though.

29:00 this is common when clearings are cut. Edge or close to edge trees fall much easier. You should check each tree around your area of operation every two years, because you're incredibly lucky nothing bad happened, a friend's father lost a leg from something exactly like this. He was in his tractor, getting it started to move it inside as a storm was rolling, and out of nowhere a pine fell and smashed the tractor's cabin, grabbing his leg. He was on there an hour before he was rescued. Trees don't play around when they fall.

They went straight for cutting this piece of sh!t, so the vehicle at least has some chance to work. But, it would never have the right to work properly.

It's hard to imagine how fucking stupid you have to be thinking this project was for Kanye west based of a image used to depict what the drawing of this build looked like and the very vague "canceled celebrity" description. .. a image off the internet + "canceled celebrity" = iT's kAnYE yE's sO DUmB

I would have turned around the transmission and transfer case and put the engine in the back. Then put the driver right up front for good visibility. I would have done a 4 link suspension with coil overs so you could chop the back end... and maybe shorten the frame. If you needed space I would have made it wider. Also it needs some crazy bead-locks so you can run it at something like 2-4 psi. I think it needs about 2-3 feet shortened out of it.
