In this lapidary adventure, I am exposing the pure agate beauty that is hidden within African Malawi agate nodules by grinding away the husk! I used my 8" CabKing to grind away the husk by using a diamond flat lap and then polished all of the banded agates on the REZ wheels! All of these are listed on my Etsy store.

Out of curiosity, what do you do with the rocks that aren’t good? I am imagining an amazing planter box with these or a garden path or something!

I've been following you for quite a while. I live near Park rapids Minnesota, come down & over to the North shore quite often. Lol it was closer when I lived NorthEast of the Cities! Been dragging rocks etc home for over 30 years, grand portage on down 2Duluth! Love that house with yard decorated with Driftwood rocks and all kinds of statues etc! I must say your videos are getting more and more high-tech and entertaining! I brag about you to my 14,13 and 12 year old grandchildren I'm raising AND dragging up the North shore camping & hunting for things like agate's..keep it up buddy, luv ya, GMA D.

Your polishing technique on the cab king is really effective man. Whenever I try to do it, I seem to just cause more scratches than it had right after the cut. Pretty much resigned myself to being a vibrolap-or-bust guy since it seems to be the only reliable solution. Great video as always.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of these videos. I have had my cab king for about a month now and just love learning the nuances of the tool and how to keep improving. I take notes from your videos and really appreciate any lapidary advice that you offer. Hopefully my polishing will be good enough to warrant opening an etsy store. All the best Taylor!

I could tell that the one you kept was going to be interesting just by looking at the back husk (5:33). I literally laughed out loud when you picked the same one at the end!🤣 You have some good taste, fellow Catholic rockhound. 😎

Just a crazy question why don't you get a 80 grit diamond wheel and use your flat lap? I love when you have the time to grind the face and have so much more of the stone left. Little but mighty agates. The one you are keeping looks like a side view of Abe Lincoln.
@AgateDad

I don’t like the 80 grit laps, leaves too many scratch marks and takes way too long to work those out, in my opinion :)

For the sake of efficiency, wouldn't it make sense to cut the ends off with a saw? Besides being faster and more economical this way also gives the possibility of having the cutoff piece being worthy of polishing and getting two polished pieces from each rock.
