Grinding Brake Noise caused by Rust

2009 Honda CRV has a grinding sound coming from the brakes. The car owner thinks they need new brakes, but they don’t.

Left my car sitting for 2ish weeks after breaking my ankle, took her around the block to make sure she was ok & heard this same noise. Honestly I just drove it for an hour & took it for a wash & she sounds brand new 🧘‍♂️

Yeah back when I sold cars we would call it lot rot. It would happen after a few days of the cars not being driven. I would have my people drive the nicer cars around for a few miles every morning before we opened. If I knew we had a test drive coming in for a specific car I would have them do the same for that car. It sounds horrible until the rust is gone😂

Okay so ive been in a state of panic the past 2 days trying to find out the scraping noise im hearing all of a sudden coming from the front of my car. My dad took my tires off to see if the breaks need to be done, but they look good. Can I please ask if this is a rust issue what is the level of damage if I cant immediately clean the rust off? No, it would contaminate the brake pads and rotor surface, making the brakes ineffective.

this is the only video where the sound is excatly the same as mine, my rotors arent rusted as much on outside as the ones shown and i replaced my pads but there is still a concering grinding sound when travveling below 30 mph
