The grinding got really nasty sounding for a bit but now its just a consistent oscilating squealing sound, when i start out very slowly from a stop i can hear a drawn out squeal. My rear tire makes a intermittent grinding noise as the wheel is turning. Initially thought it was the brakes and rotors as they are over due for a change. Changed both of them. The pads were pretty snug so I grinded the pad ears a little and added lubricant. They are still slightly snug but not as bad but I still can hear the intermittent grinding noise when I hand turn the wheel. Also thought it could have been my hand brake (it a manual) because my car sat for about 3 weeks and brakes seized/rusted so I adjusted the handbrake pad distance. Any suggestions what it could be?

If your brake rotor isn't completely flat, or if the surface of the hub isn't completely flat, the resulting run-out will eventually wear the rotors into being warped. We're talking 0.003in of tolerance. I've also redone brakes that got noisy because one clip was bent. I accidentally pushed the caliper down against the same clip when redoing the brakes so I suspect that was how it got messed up... at the factory.
