Grinding Noise on Deceleration

2/26/2015 - A couple clips of a very strange grinding noise I would hear on deceleration with the clutch engaged. The noise stops once the clutch is pushed in.
The problem has recently stopped and I no longer hear the grinding. Never figured out what the cause was.
3/6/2016 update - Since replacing the center bearing on my driveshaft I have not heard this noise come back.

Having this problem on a 13 speed Eaton Fuller transmission 30 thousand miles after a new clutch install. Sounds worse when truck weighs near 40 tons.

@Mr. Plissken ended up being the leveler valve, at times the airbags were deflated slightly while moving and causing noise from shaft being uneven.

Was it louder in higher rpms?

My 2g DSM makes the exact same noise. If you figure it out let me know. I've been chasing it and I'm thinking it's the rear diff.

+Steve Hamm Turns out it was the driveshaft center bearing, since replacing it the noise hasn't come back.

+BayAreaB5DashCamera So that's like the carrier bearing on the driveshaft? After watching videos and searching forums all day, I've been thinking my problem is the pinion bearing. I really hope that's not the case because I'm not confident enough to tear into the differential.

Tony Rodriguez Yeah it ended up being a crappy eBay clutch and lightweight flywheel. Swapped both out with new OEM units and it’s been perfect ever since.

+Szökrönyös Péter Nope, if anything it has gotten worse over the years. My driveshaft center bearing was totally destroyed so I fixed that but the noise still happens occasionally. Update: The noise seems to be fixed after replacing the driveshaft bearing, no more grinding noises.

+BayAreaB5DashCamera That is not so good. I think it is something with the transmission. I used to hear, that the vibration is the strongest in 4th gear, and in second and fifth, you can't hear easily. If I find, where it comes from, I will write to you. Thanks for the help!

@@TheL3GiTGamer225 Yes, my car was a 240SX with a very light flywheel. Also forgot to mention, that it started doing this noise after changing the flywheel and clutch setup. The noise is there, because there is not enough dampening within the flywheel, that absorbs the unwanted vibrations. I have used the car like that for years and had no problem at all, only that annoying grinding noise (luckily my grinding RPM was above 3500, so in daily use you cound not hear that).
