Haven't watched the reaction yet but i just want to say i actually love the storyline with Clare and The Shep, a lot of people think it's just goofy cuz of him calling her a "little b*tch" but i know that there are actual teachers/ school workers who act EXACTLY like that, like it's genuinely really realistic sadly 😭 Ok i will admit that that moment is really funny though 💀

I missed the Season 8 premiere of Degrassi, due to work, but I did get a chance to watch it yesterday after my LSAT Study Prep. I remember two episodes of Degrassi Season 8, and these are one of my favorites. The part when Riley punched or headbutted Sav on the nose, I was mad, like he didn't have to do that. I'm not sure if it was provoked or not. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I'm looking forward to Riley overcoming his sexuality, and later with Zane coming soon. The Shep called Clare a little "b", I was like, "Cancel this Bastard!", but the way he said was like "Damn, did he really just say that?" 🤭. The Shep can be biased towards the Gifted students, but shows favoritism to jocks and cheerleaders. I feel bad for Connor though 😢, and he has Asperger's Syndrome.

ERIC lol CRAIG can NOT hold his own he was just tall 😂 yall forget Craig got his Ahh BEAT by ‘SKINNY’ the bum on the street. He had Craig crying on the ground like NO NOT MY GUITAR 😂 and Skinny took that and beat his ahh! The only person Craig ever fought is Joey and he was 5’6 and not fighting back lol

When I first saw this episode and that Conner’s outfits were the exact same, I felt so seen. I used to go to catholic school and we wore uniforms. So when I finally went to public school, I freaked out because I couldn’t wear the same thing every day. And kids are mean. Now as an adult, I just wear different combinations of the exact same clothes but in different colors and it makes me feel soooooo much better.

Yeah Asberger’s syndrome is no longer an official diagnosis and it is now classified as autism. Some people who were diagnosed before the change still identify with that term and some others call it high-functioning autism, but that’s also considered an outdated term. Also, I don’t know if you noticed, but Degrassi is back on KZbin! Some seasons have a few episodes missing still, but majority of episodes are back on there. So idk if that will help with filming future episodes, but just wanted to give you the heads up.

I have Aspergers syndrome or high functioning autism. I am a 2000s kid born in 1997. I Didn’t know that Degrassi featured a character with autism. I gotta find and watch that episode.

Yeah. A lot of people identified with that term but the awkward thing is Aspberger was a nazi en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Asperger#Early_career_(1930-1938)

Im with you right there, Eric. The next next class is a breath of fresh air. Like we miss Emma, Manny, JT, Toby and Sean but now we are getting newbies : Claire- Emma KC- Sean (to me in my opinion) Allie- Manny Conner- Toby

As someone who almost definitely has undiagnosed autism, I love the "Causing a Commotion" episode. Even though my autistic traits differ from Connor's quite a bit, it still makes me feel seen. Also, you're correct that the term Asperger's isn't used anymore. Mainly because of the term's history; it was named after a N*zi who wanted to unalive neurodivergent people. Autism is now separated into levels 1, 2 & 3 (level 1 having the most subtle traits and level 3 having the most prominent traits) and instead of "high/low functioning," typically we'll say "high/low support needs."

You're right, aspergers isn't used anymore because it's an outdated term, now you'd just say autism :) Oh also ADD isn't used anymore either lol, just adhd 😭

I could be wrong, but I took a class last year about students with exceptionalities (learning disorders, mental illness, physical disabilities, etc), and ADD was definitely separated from ADHD. They manifest differentl, at least in children

@Anna-B yeah that's wrong, the disorder once known as ADD is now referred to as ADHD, though it's still a common misconception that they're two different things

@@Anna-B they may have meant ADHD-Inattentive vs ADHD-Hyperactive. You can also have Combination, so you have both (me). Some people say ADD for inattentive, but that’s not technically correct.

@@lajourdanne yeah the two types you mentioned are correct but ADD isn't used anymore. inattentive is still hyperactive it's just internalised like it is with girls who mask their symptoms,

I didn't think you would be posting today! Yeah, Riley really went on a jounery to fully accepting himself and Peter was a great support to him! I loved the niners and the close bond that they had and KC sticking for them and Clare leading the charge to help get Connor back in school and seeing Connor's storyline in how he functioned in school before he got his diagnosis. Shep was really a horrible and superficial princepal and it was so rude what it he said to Clare.

I have Aspergers but it falls on the autism spectrum it has different levels … I’m on the lower end of the spectrum then there middle grade part of the spectrum and higher end of spectrum
