I love the stubby strike size. Fits great in the pocket and it looks amazing.

The Boker Strike is a really good knife for the money. Tough design, decent steel and great ergos. I'll admit I'm a boker fan, but they seem to listen to consumers and bring products to the market that people want at a good price point. If I could only have one, I would go with the Strike Plus...

hell it’s an even better deal on bladeops rn, they have an exclusive cpm s30 model on sale for 50$
@DnuHarmS3 жыл бұрын
The distance the tip of the blade of the Strike has to travel through the arc is much greater so it actually does go slower in terms of time required to traverse the full 180 degrees vs. the tip of the Stubby which isn't travelling nearly as far. And science for the win.

THESE are so much more substantial than the kal74. The stubby is soooooooo killer.

im not a knife smith but im guessing the stubby snaps harder cause it has less blade material to kick out....i guess...i dunno. but i LOVE D2 steel! thats a great price for D2. cant wait to get my hands on the full sized strike...
@flatasacueball63262 жыл бұрын
It's physics. All the weight of the blade is closer to the pivot, so it moves easier/faster. Even with the same blade mass, the shorter blade would be snappier, because it's shorter.

I have older versions of the Kalashnikov that have blade locks that lock the blade when open or closed. They don’t have pocket clips; I was surprised the new ones are missing this feature. I liked the lock because it was not obvious unless you knew how to unlock it. Making it less likely little curious hands would not be able to get hurt if they happen to pick it up. Do the Boker Strike series safety locks work the same? I wish the new models Kalashnikov still had the locking feature. I like the Strike for having this option for both use and safety. Now all you need is a neck carry sheath to make them even better.

you want a folder or fixed blade? you can pickup a mora fixed blade for literally 30$ all the way down to like 11$ and they’re AMAZING quality and if it breaks you ain’t out much
@acid6urns Жыл бұрын
for folders? boker, kershaw, and crkt all make budget friendly good blades. also QSP makes good ones too. i personally woukd go for something in maybe D2 steel or something similar to 8cr13mov, d2 if you aren’t worried abt rust bc it holds an edge really well. but 8cr13 is stainless while d2 is tool steel

But are they durable? I actually use my knives daily for many different things and often have to re sharpen them once every couple weeks or so. If I need to stab and chop at some wood with this will it hold up? What about pry strength?
@CapFlipGaming Жыл бұрын
Get an Izula II if you're going to put it through some real hell. I wouldn't do stuff like that with an auto.
@redacted6115 Жыл бұрын
@@CapFlipGaming never seen an izula before it looks nice, however, Ive never been a fan of fixed blades. I like the compactness of an auto. I like the look of the izula tho for sure
@acid6urns Жыл бұрын
@@redacted6115 man if you’re planning to chop anything then a folder ain’t really the best option. but if you’re intent on a folder look at some of cold steel’s larger folder with the triad lock. it’s one of the strongest locks on a folder and cold steel makes their knives to be beat to hell and still work

@doktorb3at3 жыл бұрын
You can disassemble the knife and find a screw holding the safety in place. Just tighten it and you're good to go. While putting it back together, put some blue Locktite on the screws.

why aus 8? they have a cpm s30 model auto for around the same price as the d2 model if you really want stainless , and s30 is honestly objectively better than d2 or aus 8 but aus 8 will need a lot of sharpening compared to d2 or s30

If warranty matters, Boker has lifetime, but...you must send a check for $15 for a warranty repair. So, my Boker Plus Strike cost me $50 in January 2021. End of November very little use over the ten months--mostly just fiddling while at my desk--and it's dead. No spring action at all. Not weak, just gone. And...while Boker USA sells parts, they will not sell the spring. Can't decide if $15 is good money after bad or just a fluke that after maybe 75 openings, the life of the spring is reached. The warranty page at Boker warns that the warranty is void if the knive has been disassembled, so I can't even take it a part to investigate. There is also a caution that non-USA manufactured automatic knives are not covered AND that non-USA manufacture knives sent to Boker for repair will be destroyed. I guess Boker China is more China than Boker, eh?

I think my Strikes are a bit snappier than the AK47's , anyway you better get used to using that lock , because the button is pretty high and it Will Open in your pocket , it happened to me at work and it just about split my finger in half right up the side of my nail about an inch from the tip past my cuticle , and it didn't tickle , lol .....
