I gotta say the track without grip looked awesome to drive as well. It looked more challenging to keep the revs high with those lines, which is probably an interesting dynamic in a race

Something I hadn't really considered but makes a lot of sense; this might also vary by corner. I would appreciate some tips on what to do in a rental kart where the brakes are weak or lack progression - karting at the weekend a gentle squeeze on brakes would do nothing, had to really punch down hard with leg and would get maximum brake only

For me - works the same way. I see how a skilled drivers use a tighter one. But it is hard to estimate if a tighter line under the lower rpm benefits to a slightly larger line under higher rpm.

Yes, this week I raced at a track where one of the "pro-tips" was to take a tight line in two double hair pins because you cannot really capitalize on the momentum you take into the corner. However while actually racing, I noticed that while I did cover way less track then the guys with wider lines, I was not really faster thru the corner, because my revs got way too low. With electric karts my line would have been much faster tho.

When turning, is it better to break or just release the gas pedal sometimes? Also, how do you take POV shots?

It depends on the corner. Regardless of if you brake or lift, do it early in the corner so you can be on the gas before the apex. Regarding POV shots I use a GoPro and mount it on my helmet with a curved mount.

doesnt transfer as much into rental karting but load transfer is a thing. Lifting throttle or a little brake tap can load your front and make steering better. Some cars even go with lift oversteer like Porsche. On the other hand a little tap on throttle can make car understeer until its too much and then oversteer. In the end its about fine balance having the load where you want it in each part of corner to maximize your tire utilization.

Trouble I have is a lot of hopping in corners, indoor sodi petrol karts. I think it’s too much grip on inside? Especially in a slowish tight chicane, you go left right left quickly onto main straight. I feel like slowing down though would just make lap times worse?

Hey sir, i have a rental karting place nearby my house but the track has goes up and down sometimes where i lose all my momentum. Even by using the tips but i improved by 0.08 ms but can you make tips about tracks that has bridges?

yea the track is way too grippy now and I need to drive like i've got infinite downforce (progressive braking, mostly staying on the throttle, etc). Villagio is still a great track
