love this interview, not enough content about these talented folks. Rossen is my all time favorite artist.

I love Rossen's work aesthetics and philosophy! I could hear him talk about his music and things like that all day long.

Thanks for this! Great interview! Very happy to hear Daniel feels like going back to the harmonies a little bit, even though I love what they did with Painted Ruins, and wouldn't want to trade it for anything.

I like his artistic integrity, sticking to his guns, artists don't just create for the world they do so to express themselves and if they don't enjoy it then what's the point?

I think yellow house tapped into the true creative genius of GB, and over time they have slowly run out of mojo and lost direction. I still love some of Painted Ruins, but nothing beats Yellow House.

BRELLLA Yellow House is their best album, but these guys know what they're doing man. Shields, Painted Ruins, Veckatimest are awesome albums!! Grizzly Bear never made a bad album. Yellow House is their best, but they never lose their minds.

Worminioz, The Sad Worm I agree, Veck and Shields had some great tracks (Sleeping Ute, Fine for now), but YH holds them up to such a high standard. I think they have become less consistent aince YH, maybe because they are struggling to find new music, like dan has said. I believe they should work with other artists and expand their horizons. They have a really good redo of Service Bell with Feist. Terrapin station is also a great collaboration. Female vocals could add a lot more to their music.

BRELLLA i don't think so. I wouldn't believe if i saw a Grizzly Bear single featuring with some other artists. I mean, if they did something like Daniel did on Terrapin Station would be greate, but doesn't sound good to me now. YH is one of my favorite albums of all time, but i don't see them losing their minds and doing something like Tame Impala did on Currents. Painted Ruins is their most different album. They tried psychedelic ( Aquarian ), indie rock ( Cut-Out ), and way more pop than they did on Veck ( Morning Sound ). And it kind of worked to me. They're trying to explore new horizons like you said. I think Painted Ruins is just something experimental for their their new ideas, and probally they'll be back with another different album in a few years. They should have a break on music to know what they really want to do on the future.
