This is an uber-sweet jangly, reverb-drenched, very 'real' sounding pop confection that should be praised (and not scorned). There's a kind of '60s sensibility here that I find totally compelling and a chorus that at this moment would be an appropriate musical epitaph for me. Damn I love this song.

They remind me most of the Moody Blues. Great stuff! Thank you Arcade Fire, Grizzly Bear, Metric, The White Stripes and the many other bands of my generation for initiating a new renaissance of spectacular music. There was a commercialized lull for while there after the early 90s that has finally been broken! LOVE THE TIMES.

Christianity is not a religion. It is a realization of truth, and acceptance of grace, and an involvement in the greatest love story ever told. Don't confuse the love of Christ with the hypocrisy often associated with His followers. No one can convince you to surrender to His will, it is not logical. Someone else could just as easily convince you to abandon Him. A relationship with Him is self-realized, and we are called by Him. I wish more Christians would strengthen their theology.

genius; melancholy pop. they've created almost an oxymoron in music- two opposites existing with each other; dependent on each other and giving each other meaning and purpose for existing; good would not be good without bad being bad. DIRECT RELATION: melancholy sub guitars and synth along with almost droned out sad banging drums creates the sad and dark tones, but his pop vocal melodies and rhythms with an upbeat tempo stricking a major (happy associated) tone here and there - creats good feel

Love how an engineer and producer can get a muddled, distorted and hollow sound from a pristine studio and then throw some absolutely gorgeous vocal arrangements on top of it and lose the listener in the craftsmanship. These drums sound like they were recorded in a garage and they fit the landscape of the song like a 1960's Hullabaloo babe shakin' in a cage. AWESOME!

Lovely entree of a song! I appreciate the "different" sound of these latest releases and look forward to a new "audio buffet" in Shields. Ed's singing voice, as well as Daniel's, has grown in confidence and comes forth so much more willingly than on previous albums -- Hooray! Here, Ed has a silkiness akin to the Kings of Convenience boys. I'm on board!

In the dream he snuggles into a huge Grizzly Bear in the woods, slowly falling a sleep while this tune echos from the ground. But the dream turned sour when the bear got angry and chased him (he's naked) with the explosive ending of the song screaming out from the dead trees.

I think the complexity and innovation in their music draws that sort of crowd. For me, listening to many of their songs becomes an experience akin to unlocking a puzzle, taking apart all the little pieces and elements in my head and seeing how they fit together to form a beautiful and moving whole. You may not be able to see what it has to offer, but if you do see it.. then you quietly smile in bliss as other people ignore the fact that they are pure genious. Clicked this for the R. Diebenkorn monoprint & got a nice song to boot. Not in my wheelhouse but it's well done. It actually reminds of me more of his representational work than his abstract pieces. Very painterly music. Visceral & immediate like a snapshot but dreamy:washy layers, diffuse edges yet something tenable. Just like those paintings, on the verge of abstraction...an in-between states feeling. Also the psychedelic flavor helps; California was the setting for those paintings.
