Generally speaking, I find reaction videos or channels that use reaction videos as their material, distasteful. But after watching my favorite franchise being driven to the ground and having these people cheer along the way, I can't help but enjoy watching them get absolutely humiliated. I don't think I have ever seen more fake fans in any media than the Disney apologists in Star Wars. I've seen better acting in kindergarten plays. And the saddest part is that, back in 2015, I was ALL for an Ahsoka spin-off show. Specifically, I wanted to see a show with Ahsoka as the lead and a few other characters that Ahsoka befriended during the Clone Wars as the supporting cast (Barriss, Ventress and perhaps a little bit of Lux Bonteri too). But that was almost a decade ago, before Disney made a complete mockery of this franchise. Now, I wouldn't watch an Ahsoka show, even if it was EXACTLY what I wanted to see, let alone a show that introduces new characters I didn't ask for (the white bearded guy) or brings back some of the worst Disney Star Wars characters ever made (the cast of Rebels). Right now, the Bad Batch, or rather one single character from that show (Crosshair) serves as my only tie to the Disney Star Wars product. Aside from one single character, I have absolutely zero interest in anything that Disney is currently making or is planning to make. Even if it includes (ESPECIALLY if it includes) some of my favorite characters, like Ahsoka and Thrawn.
@MrSoulreaper4211 ай бұрын
Honestly same. But I have no attachment for the bad batch. My last interest for the franchise was live action Thrawn. And they botched it. Star Wars was dead to me after Kenobi, but I thought I heard a heartbeat. But it was only my imagination
@maltron6611 ай бұрын
@@MrSoulreaper42 I hear you. In my case, I watched all the new movies and although I didn't care for any of them, it was the first season of the Mandalorian, which I thought was pure dogshit, being praised for "putting Star Wars back on track after the sequels derailed it" that killed any hope I had left in the franchise, at least until the Bad Batch came along. I remember asking for a show about Delta Squad, so even though it's not exactly what I wanted, I was willing to give the Bad Batch a shot, especially since I wanted to see more of them. But I won't pretend it's perfect. Crosshair is single handedly carrying the entire show (or should I say, the entire franchise for me) on his back, and even he hasn't been characterized as well as I want to. Although he absolutely owns the "good soldiers follow orders" mantra now, he's not following orders for the sake of following orders. He's doing it to secure a place in the Empire, a military superpower that should rule the galaxy, so it's fitting that an elite soldier like him would side with the strong. But the first episodes make it seem like he follows orders for the sake of following them, which I can see how it can be confusing. And let's not forget that the show is not over. They have loads of ways and time to ruin him too. As for Thrawn, they already butchered him in the finale of Rebels with the space whale shit. I have zero interest in watching him get ruined again.

Naturally, Ahsoka can simply drive into the frame through a crowd of stormtroopers, they can’t do anything at all... How about disarming and tying up Shin so you have a hostage and an extra lightsaber? No? In short, I've had enough. The series is shit, which will be licked because they showed us a hologram of Anakin and he said “Ventress.” Filoni is an arrogant hack, no better than Abrams or Johnson. Thanks everyone for reading.

When a show is actually good, you don't have to talk about opinions and the meta, you just talk about the content in the actual show. Character arcs, relationships, plot developments, world building, themes, symbolism, foreshadowing, set design, costume design, choreography, cinematography, sound track...

@@chidubemanukwu In 8 episodes, about 6 hours of runtime, what percentage of that is actually meaningful? What percentage is even competent? Ezra has basically no character. Ahsoka's "arc" is over in just a few minutes. Sabine is a horrible person and the show rewards her for it. The force is not special. Hera's personality is just smug general lady, who doesn't understand what the title of general means: Things CAN BE classified. She IS responsible for people's lives. She has a ton of proof of Thrawn's return, from eye-witness accounts of the hyperspace ring, the ships it destroyed in its wake, the scan Huyang took of it, the map melted by a lightsaber, the stolen hyperdrive, the imperial loyalists; instead of mentioning any of this, she has a petty quarrel with senator dude. Thrawn is the so called "heir to the empire" so why hasn't anyone told Luke? Making the New Republic incompetent doesn't "fix" Disney / Lucafilm's problems. It's just a doubling down that our heroes in the OT are failures and morons. Building a New Republic is a monumental task, and would make for a really interesting story. But Mon Mothma and Leia are not an actual part of the story. They are complacent with the corruption. Luke and Han aren't even in the story, but they're still damaged for being complacent. Thrawn is dumb. "Put her on a path of her own choosing so that no matter what, we're one step ahead". HOW?!?! How are you one step ahead? Ezra has been living on his doorstep for a decade and Thrawn couldn't find him. The Night mothers can triangulate Ahsoka's exact location but they couldn't be bothered to for Ezra. Where did Thrawn get the resources for the mine field? Space is 3D. How stupid are the whales and Ahsoka in her little ship to voluntarily continue through the minefield instead of going back and around. Since Ezra hasn't been much of a problem, Thrawn thinks it's ideal to unite him with allies who can coax him into the fight, instead of just killing / imprisoning Sabine and leaving without a hitch. He does send few troops after them, and then calls them back, and then sends two ships after them, and the ships are destroyed and he just assumes they "successfully" delayed Erza and co. Success isn't delaying them. It's killing them, or at the very least obliterating any chance they have defeating you. Why does it take so long to dock the star destroyer to the hyperspace ring? Why doesn't he dock in space, where there isn't a staircase up to him? It's not the because they're loading the cargo, because they say they finished long before the climax. It is astronomically idiotic that Thrawn allows Ezra and co anywheres near him. What was the purpose of Baylon? To be vague so that people of incredible good faith can speculate where his story goes, while it actually goes nowheres. Anakin was wasted. First off, what even was he? A force ghost? Some construct of the world between worlds? Her memory / imagination? If Anakin really is helping his precious padawan, there's no excuse when he doesn't help his son and grandson. Is Ahsoka literally teleported through dimensions. Or is she underwater the whole time and just so happens to not drown, not sink, and wake as soon as people find her. Instead of just having a conversation, offering advice, taking questions and giving answers (like Obi-Wan did for Luke) Anakin chooses to be incredibly vague and indirect with his lesson. So, Ahsoka chooses to live. Why would she possibly choose anything else? When has she been tempted to die / give up? How does this lesson improve her life? Why does she need this lesson, when really from what we see, she's been doing perfectly fine. Sabine survives a lightsaber stab. What's worse is that stabbing her served absolutely ZERO purpose in the story. No long term injury. They didn't even milk the drama of a character being close to death. Ahsoka isn't even good in superficial elements. The choreography is garbage. The costumes aren't impressive. The set design is garbage. The special affects are average. The music isn't memorable.

I honest to god believe these people like Ahsoka because it has the Star Wars name on it. It’s seen by fans as the safe Star Wars thing that doesn’t step on any toes, and that’s why people rate it highly. People will forget about it in a few months and maybe even turn on it, but they’ll always say “that Anakin cameo was cool” without explaining why
@haku813511 ай бұрын
I can explain why. Hayden can actually use a fucking lightsaber, and he has charisma, presence and the ability to have a fucking character. Hayden's cameo shows what the entire rest of the show LACKS. Quality. Hayden, you can see it in behind the scenes clips, literally is telling Filoni what to do because he knows this shit better. So there ya go, the cameo explained. That scene is ONE HALF good and shines a blinding light on how BAD everything around it is. That scene ends with them OFF SCREEN having Ahsoka disarm Anakin because they didn't know how to do a real disarm and didn't feel like figuring it out either. They also weren't balsy enough to just CUT OFF ANAKIN'S HAND because Lightsabers aren't dangerous anymore. This show was such a mess. And it's going to get a season 2 because of shills singing its praises to their flocks.
@biggiecheese72611 ай бұрын
@@haku8135 I agree with almost everything except that Anakin’s character was good. His dialogue felt stilted and forced. You can tell Hayden is a better actor than he was in 2005, but the dialogue sucks. I don’t know if Filoni always had this problem, but he cannot write subtlety or subtext into his dialogue at all. It’s always characters saying exactly what they’re thinking and feeling at all times. As for his lightsaber skills and presence, I absolutely agree. Rosario Dawson looks so awkward next to Hayden that it doesn’t even look like Ahsoka stands a chance.

One of the biggest problems with this show is how it regressed characters like Ahsoka and Sabine. At the end of Rebels they had finished there arcs and were very completed characters. Despite what the show said, there was no reason for Ahsoka to train Sabine when she wouldn’t train Grogu. Ahsoka came to terms with Anakin being Vader and pushed on. Sabine was not ever so sad about Ezra being missing. She was determined to find him and was confident. Not mopey. But in the show Ahsoka was a plank of wood and Sabine was the new waman character to use the force.
