6:48 Actually, the A-10c has a backwards taxi option. You just need to turn the ground safe switch up to arm the gun.

I wanted to add here in case sportscasters are watching that I, too, enjoyed watching the Viggen "E-Sport" broadcast from Hooks. To me at least the flow felt very much like baseball with periods of suspenseful cerebral strategy punctuated by brief air battles. Air combat is something that I can watch with friends over a couple of beers at the nineteenth hole.

Hi, new sub here! Im coming from a Counter-Strike background but flightsims were always a bit of a passion for me. The points you talked about dont really sound like theres a problem at all getting flightsims into Esports. And I honestly think DCS is the best game (platform) to do this with. Mainly because other sims like IL2bos or WT are research based, which makes for an uneven playing field. The few negative points, namely viewers with no experience and balancing, really dont sound problematic to me. Even in CS, which you could consider a much faster game, theres time for commentators to explain basics to the viewers, which is one of the reasons why CS viewership skyrocketed in the past 2 years. And well, in a DCS match I could imagine that theres more than enough time to talk about the different planes, their capabilities, their armament, and of course the mission and mission goals. Balance wise I see even less of a problem than with new viewers. You see, CS is considered a pretty well balanced game, but that does not mean its completely symetrical. CS matches are played with two halfs. After the first, the players switch sides and the first team that wins 16 rounds in total (15 per half) wins the match. I think you could easily do this in DCS aswell, so you could easily match two teams against each other with different loadouts. This of course arises the question of the game format. I think having a combined ground and air mission could potentially take too much time for having two halfs. I havent played much multiplayer in DCS though, so I might be clueless. But I think for making an exciting esport experience, total match length should be under one hour. And I also think that you could easily create suitable missions with the editor to fit these "requirements". You would of course need to find professional standards so that every match is comparable in different leagues. So for an example lets say you have a classical cold war scenario and a team size of 5 players, just for the sake of consistency with other esport titles. One team would start with western jets and the other one with sowjet jets and switch sides after the first half. Of course they should be somewhat comparable and not F15 vs MiG21. But with the currently available DCS modules, I dont see a problem here. Players could either chose their loadouts themselves from prepared selection or all play with the same, depending on mission design. That could either be pure Air to Air combat, either BVR or close range or even guns only dogfight. Or as you said some kind of combined missions, where one player assumes the ground attack role and the other 4 would need to protect that player, if for example the match goal would be a certain amount of ground kills. There are certainly LOTS of possibilities here that are suitable for exciting esports scenarios and its a question of time of finding the best and most exciting one, bur Im very optimistic. I really hope this discussion gains some momentum :)

I like DCS "E-sport" matches, hope to see more of them. I also want to participate, but the slots are filled very fast since there's only is 1 "grude match series" going on right now. So if you want to start one, it's very welcomed :)

Your channel is amazing and instant subscribe. I am keep watching your videos and can't get more of this amazing DCS world. I really love flight simulators but my skills are so poor and lacking that I don't even try to fly it anymore and my flightstick is sold long time ago :( Keep up good job and can't wait for more. Cheers!

Wags hinted strongly that the reason it was scrubbed from Razbam was because it was being worked on by someone else (possibly BST,) I'll see if I can find the link.

Hey Grmlz! Thanks so much for the kind words on the Grudge Match Series events! As you know it was a crazy sort of idea but I really think the formula has worked! Our biggest complaint has been to minimize F-10 Map time and focus on 3D views, which I strive to do, but as you know the F-10 map is crucial for viewer and announcer awareness! We will continue worked at ideas on improving that but I think our last three events has been enjoyable to watch at any rate! Do you have any interest in joining the Grudge Match Series Sponsor Team? Perhaps you could provide some commentary in the next round as part of our co-commentator team? There is a possibility of a AJS-37 Vs MiG 21 Match before the proper Viggen release which I'd be honored to have you part of!

I liked the Viggen vs Mig stream, but they should work on the good and trackable camera angles. They moved around way to jittery and quick.

Actually.. the Spanish training plane have added in dezember or november an anti ship missle. The CC version of the C-101 training plane. Yeah I also have no clue how and why. but it works for the players. o.o Happy new year and you are great!! Love your Videos. Would also love to add you sometimes on steam to chat :3 But I really have a question with the AJS-37 Viggen. How do the Viggen use the Maverik (they get 2 types of anzi ship missle, also a radio/optical player manual controlled missel against every Target , air or ground and Maveriks) so HOW does the Viggen use without a TV or HOTAS the Maverik? Just to know what I am overlooking. And yes I want to see you broadcast events!

Also thid year there should also come the F-14 a/b FROM LS and F/A-18 (Idk again if C or E) from ED, Harrier should also come and Eurofighter from VEAO. Also ED want to introduce bomber.... Yes.. Fast jetbombers. :3
@GrmlZGaming8 жыл бұрын
You cant fly the CC version as player though. Only the EB. As for the Mav on the viggen, the small round display next to the hud is for the Mav. You use the small stick on the left of the cockpit, which is normaly for radar control, to slew the mav seeker.
@ElectrolfRaul8 жыл бұрын
GrmlZGaming Oh really? Last time I watched the devs fly it, and use it. Maybe I was wrong and it will be public useble for everyone this year, sorry for beikg wrong, my fault
@ElectrolfRaul8 жыл бұрын
GrmlZGaming Thanks! That is nice to know! So that is really nice to see, one player guided weapon, one self guided weapon, 2 ship missle that I guess work like Harpoons, with waypoints and active radar?
@GrmlZGaming8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the newer one of the two, the RB 15 has waypoints and things like that you can set. The older one , the RB 04 has less options and most of them are set on the ground.

Do you think there is a chance of the F-111 being added to the game in any of its variants?
@GrmlZGaming8 жыл бұрын
I havent heard about a F-111, but everything is possible. The question is if on of the dev teams can get the necesary information to accurately simulate it. You need a decent amount of insider information to do that.
@AB-lo1ec8 жыл бұрын
I would buy this game in a heartbeat if so. It was flown for a long time by the USAF and the RAAF so there should be a lot of information on it.

I think we'd have to be *very* careful about promoting DCS as an E-sport because as soon as a game is advertised as such the discussion inevitably turns to "balance". Adjusting aircraft in DCS to "balance" them against each other would be the death of the game as a hard code simulation. There's a reason why DCS is seen as a sim whereas War Thunder could be seen as an E sport.
@dgallari43708 жыл бұрын
Exactly, also E sports are know for being very easy to get into, but hard to master. DCS is certainly very hard to master, but for many players not familiar with flight sims, it can be quite difficult to get into as well.
@samjohnson91918 жыл бұрын
I don't think you quite understand the vision of the GM series and related events, it has no intention of changing the realistic nature, only showing that realistic high skill titles like DCS can be very entertaining when presented in a E-sports format. Make E-sports fit DCS, not the other way around.
@DarkFire5158 жыл бұрын
You make a good point, and I agree that making E-sports fit DCS and not the other way around wouldn't be a problem, and could even be beneficial to the size of the player base. That being said, I've seen this several times before where good intentions have been gradually eroded to the point where any and all adjustments are made with the sole purpose of keeping "top tier" competitive players (perhaps
