Homesteaders are proud of their food! Truth! Nothing tastes better than eating your own food.

they're crossing the streams on multiple channels! No one knows what will happen! (I'm guessing good food.) I hadn't thought about it before, but all of a sudden I'm thinking about what Meg will have. With all the boys and the one girl would another girl be good? Just a happy healthy baby is all they need, right? And how'd they get the new baby coming? That's a mystery. I remember the Peanuts cartoon had a solution involving the great pumpkin.

Grocery shopping from the garden is so satisfying. I love when a recipe asks for fresh thyme. I just go outside with some scissors and cut a few sprigs off. It NEVER gets old.

I loved the comment about homesteaders being proud of their food. I grew cauliflower and broccoli this winter for the first time. I was in awe when I harvested a 3lb. 4oz. Cauliflower. I took pictures and showed them to anyone who would look. 😂 Also I love seeing the KZbin family that I watch come together, such a blessing to be a little bit a part of your celebrating Meg. 💖💙

I’m a foodie, a cook and a gardener and I get you about the pride you have when you harvest food and gift it to others. I am no farmer, but my little backyard homestead can produce some beautiful food. I particularly love bringing my mother whatever I have in season when I go visit her. Put some of that peach jam in your vinaigrette when you make your beet salad, you can thank me later! Thanks for sharing.

This was such fun! I think one of my favorite things about being part of the gardening community is that when (for example) a friend comes by with marmalade from her Seville orange tree I can give her a couple of pints of butternut squash for soup. I love the swapping! 💚

Love watching the harvest. Maybe think about putting a cute tote or flower pot in each high tunnel where you can store gardening tools (trowels, harvesting knives, etc) to have handy. I've seen other gardeners set up old mailboxes in their gardens where they keep such things as well. We have a small shed near our garden, so our tools are nearby. If you put row covers on your brassicas, you don't have to worry about worms as much. If you let the worms take over, you'll have even more moths & worms next season. 😱

Oh my goodness your new iris is just like the ones that came with my house! I love it. It's peachy. Holds up well in a vase if you can cut it before it opens, better than a lot of others I have. I sent a picture of the very same one (and a bunch of others) to my grandpa the day before he passed suddenly. The next year they multiplied like crazy. Don't know the real name of it but I call it Grandpa's favorite because that's the one he said he liked the most.

Hey Jess I heard you mention a egg lisens. It is my understanding that I this state that of you sell your eggs directly to the customer and it's only two party's involved then you don't have to have one. Now if you sell your eggs to someone to sell for you. Then it becomes a third party and you would need one. There are stipulations and guidelines that you have to follow but you probably know that.
