Grohe K7, I have just replaced the 46374 cartridge. Shut the water off under the sink- both hot and cold. 1. Use a tiny flat screwdriver to remove the rubber plug. 2. 3 mm hex key works; 7/64" or 1/8"- do not. 3. The handle was stuck; not to scratch the surface, I have tapped on the wooden shim to loosen the handle; make sure to protect your countertop as it may rapidly come off. 5. Use a screwdriver to take collar/ sleeve off. 6. Unscrew the nut holding the cartridge and remove the cartridge itself. 1-9/32" shower valve wrench works great. 7. Important! Make sure the silicone washers are out of the faucet body; they may have detached from the removed cartridge itself. 8. Line the new cartridge with the guides/holes inside the body of the faucet; it only goes one way. Put a metal sleeve on. 9. Tighten the nut, just a bit, and observe if any water is collecting beneath the nut. Mine did a drop every other minute; tighten a smidgen more and observe again. I mean a smidgen. 10. Put the collar/sleeve (decorative escutcheon) back on after having cleaned the water deposits off the O black rubber ring; you can remove that ring and clean underneath, too. 11. The new cartridge has a white tip with a silver screw; turn the white tip 180 degrees (regular Phillips screwdriver will work) so the handle would fit properly, not upside down. 12. Push the handle back over the white tip; using 3 mm hex key - tighten it. I hope these instructions help you to have a better day.

I couldn't tell if there should be an o ring inside the nut. In the video, and in my installation prior to removal, there was. I still don't know at this poinit what the right way is.

Seems to be working okay without it. No idea why there was one in there in the first place.

Well the video makes it look so easy. Not quite as straigtforward and thanks to those who added some useful comments. On my K7 the cartidge nut is 30mm and fortunately I had a socket this size in my inventory. After installing the new cartridge it leaks badly directly through the cartridge and not around it. Contacting Grohe Canada for assistance.

This was exactly what I needed, thank you! But, where do you get a 32mm socket for plumbing? I've tried 4 hardware stores and 2 plumber's supply stores.

I cannot remove the handle. I was able to unscrew the screw but the handle seems to be “locked” in. I’ve pulled fairly hard but I’m afraid to apply more strength to it. Any ideas?

A Grohe representative recommended squirting vinegar in to dissolve mineral deposits and WD-40 to lubricate plus heating up the handle with a hair dryer. I finally achieved success by doing that and then pouring boiling water over the handle, and pulling on it with leather gloves on did the trick.

carefully tap the edge of the handle it will come loose, it's because of years of calcium deposit so vinegar works, and you should use vinegar as first try.

Dont be afraid, just pull it. Be sure to pull straight tho

I just can’t find the correct 32 mm tube wrench in stores anywhere. I called Grohe Canada and I got no help finding it from their part. I have a new cartridge to change, which I have in hand, but cannot go further because I can’t unscrew the 32 mm nut!!! This is nuts!

Hello! Thank you for your question. The replacement 32 mm tubular style wrench would be available through Amazon: www.amazon.com/Cruztools-AW142232-14mm-Combo-Wrench/dp/B005U80C46/ref=sr_1_29?dchild=1&keywords=32mm+tubular+style+wrench&qid=1622659677&sr=8-29. - GROHE Social Team

My Grohe Gloucester 812730 started leaking like this in about 6 months from brand new. I was able to just tighten it. It was finger loose. I don’t have a 32mm faucet wrench but found my Standard sized 1&3/32 fit okay. We’ll now see how long it lasts. At least there was a simple video to help me.

According to the response I received from the customer service, the cartridge should last 12 years. I was concerned after seeing your comment here and posed this question to them specifically.

This tool is no where to be found! this is a shallow nut which will require a thin shallow socket this link is for a deep socket... NOT THE SAME! so what now I have a cartridge but not to tool to swap it out... I've gone to 5 different store and had two plumbers in and no one has this infamous 30mm (as per my manual it's a 30 mm socket) socket tool... so, what do I do now? so frustrated!
@yichaopan79762 жыл бұрын
My user manual calls for 30 mm socket as well. Should it be 30 mm or 32 mm?
