Groom & Clean mens hair dressing was once produced and distributed by Chesbough Ponds Incorporated the same outfit that also produced Vasiline Hair Tonic. The products described were both sold off to Suave, and Suave discontinued Vasiline Hair Tonic. Score men's hair dressing was another really great product which was produced much earlier than Groom & Clean and the fragrance of that product alone was more than excellent. It was made by Brystal Meyers Incorporated the same outfit that produced Vitalis, however, Brystal Meyers sold Score and Vitalis off to Clarol and Clarol discontinued Score and sold Vitalis off to some outfit in Texas. Brystal Meyers, however still has the paten on Score men's hairdressing however will never make nor manufacture the product ever again, unfourtionally. Score was also an excellent men's hair dressing product. Sad that it won't ever be produced again. Always the very best products that worked the finest always get pulled off the shelves and discontinued.

Thanks for really filling in some of the history here. I really love that! It is sad that "the good stuff" seems to get lost in the new market bling, and then gets discontinued. Human nature I suppose.

@@classicalgrooming I don't want to seem overbearing with you or anything, HOWEVER, sure would like to see you demonstrate other hair locations and hair dressings designed specifically for men. Not really many out there left these days, however if by chance you run up against older products of the past, like to see ya do a review on them just as well to. I like reading what you have to say and write about.

@@danbasta3677I've been mulling that over in my mind. I have a couple of hair lotions, but haven't reviewed them because they are discontinued. I might review them anyhow, as well as a couple more hair tonics I have in mind. Thanks for the suggestion!

I do not consider it not drying as a downside,I want hair grease, not styling gel. The only downside is that because it is water soluble(a plus when you want to wash it out,it acts as a shampoo)it is not advisable to use it on a rainy day,as it will run all over your forehead, your ears,and the back of your neck.

It's not at all a shampoo. It's design is to disapate in your hair when you comb your hair with water to give you a light hold for your hair. If you desire more holding power, then instead of a small application to use, you would use a very large application of this product along with water to slick your hair to the desired hairstyle you choose to have. Using more of the product will only cause it to hold much more firmer and into place much longer.

Indeed. As March of 2022 this product, Groom & Clean men's hairdressing is no longer on the shelves of Wal Mart anymore.

​@@krazziejrboiNot there either. They USE to have their own version of it which was essentially Groom & Clean repackaged calling it Style & Groom. They no longer carry that either.
