SCENT DESCRIPTION: Very clean, slightly soapy but with an unusual hint of some kind of holiday spice bread (pumpkin seed and cinnamon?) Fortunately the scent is not strong and can't virtually be detected once in the hair. Not a huge fan of the scent, but it's not too bad. PRODUCT HISTORY UPDATE: After reading the tube, I found that Suave no longer makes Groom & Clean but Consort, a Canadian company, has been holding the rights and responsible for the current iteration since at least 2016.

Can you recommend something similar to this without the scent or maybe Suavecito Original but without silicones? I like the feel of this stuff but I guess my nose is sensitive because the scent makes me nauseous.

Artificial woody-spicy scent, sort of like a Bay Rum hair tonic from a long time ago.

Boy, you sure put a lot of this in your hair. Only a small application is necessary.

I use it as a leave-in hair conditioner in small amounts (similar to Brylcreem's "little dab"). It's a very versatile product.

Best hair product I’ve ever used. My grandfather has used G&C his whole life. I use it as a hair gel/leave in conditioner. I love the clean smell and softness it leaves my hair feeling

Dude your hair is perfect! i remember when I was ten years old my hair was just like yours. And I carried a comb in my back pocket at all times. Any time I happen to find myself in front of a mirror I would take out my comb and check my hair. And yes I used Groom Clean. I also used Score another great hair product which unfortunately is no longer on sale.

I got myself a tube when I was in New York last month but I did not find any online shop that sells it if I’m going to need more. Where did you got yours from? (Same with the American brylcreem)

I miss Score as it was the best, Groom & Clean is a decent alternative, Strength of Nature recently bought the rights to the product and it seems that it has been discontinued. This makes me incredibly sad.

Here is the facts. Vitalis and Score was produced by Brystal Meyers Incorporated from New York City. They sold both Vitalis and Score off to Clairol and Clairol discontinued Score mens hairdressing. Vitalis, on the other hand was sold off to some outfit in Texas. Score men's hair dressing was a really great men's hair dressing which was a micro emulsion hair dressing that works with water and dissipated in your hair providing moisture to your hair, and the scent was a very excellent manly scent. It trained your hair excellently. Many moon ago, Score, was available in a liquid hair loation. Groom & Clean came afterward on the marketplace and was Score's competition, although I much prefer Score as it works very well and as written, the scent of it was excellent. Brystal Meyers Incorporated still has the patton on Score, however, unfourtionally, they will never make nor produce this excellent product ever again.

@@danbasta3677 Hey I just wanted to add that I found a product that much closer to the original Score hair product than Groom & Clean. Let's Jam Shining And Conditioning Gel Extra Hold. It comes in a tub, but has the same properties as Score. The fragrance is similar but different. You can get it at Walmart. I am going to post as link in a reply to this comment, I don't want this comment to be deleted.

@@tigheklory Pretty much knew whare you were coming from, as I really loved Score mens hairdressing to, and as stated, it was a micro emulsion hair dressing that was actually first on the market. Groom & Clean came out much later and it was a competitor of Score. It was extremely sad that Score was discontinued and will never be seen on the market place shelves ever again, I liked it and sure do miss Score men's hair dressing. The only two mens hair dressing products I've seen on Wal Mart's shelf are Brylcream and Vitalis. March of this year, 2022, Wal Mart quit stocking and carrying Groom & Clean men's hair dressing.

That let's jam you are writing about, coming in a jar, sounds more like a product made specifically for people of color much like Murray's is or that Royal Crown greessy kid stuff that colored folks, people of color use for their hair because their type is quite different than other folks out there. It's the way God above made and designed them, you could say.

Vasiline Hair Tonic, formerly produced by Chesbough Ponds inc, is a good hair dressing to. All it is, is mineral oil and fragrance. As with any hair dressing, only a small application is necessary.

I think Groom & Clean has a nice scent to it. Score produced by Brystal Meyers was even much BETTER, however unfourtionally Score is no longer produced.

I disagree it does not smell like those foods more like hair gel the scent is stronger and annoying
