I'm 20 years old, just finished my A/L's and I'm doing a job till my university starts. even though my salary is minimum wage, i always try to groom my self well. i use normal gold men perfume, and deodorant, i use a moisturizer for my body. i trim my beard once a week and all that stuff u said. Even though i use cheap products at the moment i feel confident about my self doing all that. my ex told me these things actually😆, i also didn't care much about grooming before her. but she made me realize even u r broke it is not take much to groom ur self and generally maintain a good look, so i totally agree with u all. ✌
Lovely color scheme. quite pleasing to the eyes. Of course, the contents as well. carry on as you are.

You guys are telling the truth for some extent. The main issue is that it is damn hard to buy clothes, take care of yourself, while spending money to your family, paying for utilities from a cheap salary if you live in Sri Lanka. Majority of youngsters will have that prob.

The beard is our symbol. Sweating happens because the clothes we wear are not suitable for us. Body odor can be caused by many things. One reason might be consuming more rice. Sri Lankans, especially those living in very rural areas, don’t have as much body odor, and their diet doesn’t include much rice. This suggests that the food we get from Western sources and the lack of proper exercise might be contributing factors. Exercise is a must, or controlling our meals can have a similar effect. Trimming is good, but our main issue is adopting everything from Western culture without considering who we are and where we are.

Am I the only person who saw how the guy is miles behind the girl when it comes to being open minded about almost everything? I think I saw a similar trend on the whole "real men" video. For some reason, the guy seem to be subscribing to a lot of toxic ideologies while the girl is not. I wish you both the best and hope the guy would educate himself to identifying his narrow vision ("this is how people should groom") and toxic masculinity traits ("Men are provides. Men's lives are suffering")!

My husband who is a banker and a HR professional recently did a programme at a state university for the outgoing batch. The programme was supposed to be on how to choose your career, face an interview, how to find good jobs etc, but he was saying how they had to start with 'why you should use a deodorant!'. That aspect is very much overlooked in our society. Despite going viral for the wrong reasons, I think this is a good topic of discussion.
The way of the presentation and the quality of the podcast is excellent! Keep bringing these stuff guys! 💗

Its so annoying to listen to the content eventhough they might be delivering an important message.

Male character build with masculine characteristics rather than grooming.
@letemcookshow5 ай бұрын
90% masculine, 10% feminine 🫡
@donsrkpoorna5 ай бұрын
@@letemcookshowAll humans possess both masculine and feminine traits. Typically, males exhibit more masculinity, while females display more feminine qualities. However, it’s impossible to assign an exact figure to this balance. Each individual has a unique blend, and no one can measure it precisely. For instance, a man might have 60% masculinity and 40% femininity, or 80% masculinity and 20% femininity. But if we attempt to define a "normal" or "standard" percentage, we are completely wrong. You can't measure these qualities in such a way, they aren't like hormones. You need more experience with life itself to understand this. While you might be knowledgeable about grooming and the outward appearance of humans, it seems you lack insight into the inner reality. No offense, but you've missed a significant part of life.
@donsrkpoorna5 ай бұрын
While grooming is okay and a good thing, it’s not necessary. What is necessary is hygiene. You should know that grooming and hygiene are related but not the same. Men tend to focus more on hygiene rather than grooming (most men, but not all). Those in show business often focus more on grooming. However, in general, most men don’t prioritize grooming. They aren’t putting on a show, they’re taking care of their responsibilities, whether it’s their family or their surroundings. Most men don’t have the time or opportunity for proper grooming. Here, I’m not talking about boys or delicate, posh men. I’m talking generally about men who are out there working various jobs and running businesses to support their families. We should respect them for their hard work and not degrade them if they don’t focus on grooming. Most of them have good hygiene, by the way. So, even though grooming is okay and a good thing, we shouldn’t categorize men or women by their outer appearance. Some people have a good fashion sense, and they wear suitable clothes and groom themselves. But most people in the world don’t necessarily have a great fashion sense, though they do maintain good hygiene. Having a poor fashion sense is not a crime or a bad thing. But don’t degrade people for not grooming themselves, it’s their individual choice. The girl in the podcast seems more aware of this than the boy. (I said “boy” not to offend, but after listening to your ideas, it seems you still have a long way to go to become a man. I might be wrong, but that’s the opinion I formed from watching you talk about men. Sorry for that.)

Dressing appropriately according to the occasion means you dress appropriately. There was no need to bring in specifics such as "Short skirts" for some reason ..... Anyways I actually learnt quite a bit from this video and will be making some changes or introducing some habits that are mentioned here. But not so much that girls end up considering me as one of them. lol And also Like Shehan mentioned multiple times . It will help both to brush up on Sinhala, therefore helping you reach a wider audience and possibly help you to avoid coming out as posh. Good content . Select more questions like these and address more hard to swallow truths like this. Cheers

I do agree than grooming is important for both the genders. But just mind a little bit about the financial situation in the country. Grooming and living the life at luxury was easier for us before the pandemic and the economic crisis. But that that and up until now, almost all the people suffer at least by a certain percentage because of the situation of the income not being equal with their desire budget. The person who used to have a coffee from a fancy cafe on their way to work previously, is now drinking a plain tea or a milk tea at home and going to work. The person who used to take lunch from outside previously, is not bringing a lunch from home at least with pol sambol and rice as a result of this financial crisis in the country’s people. Even buying your own daily essentials and the medicines you need is hard for some people. So in such a situation, the man don’t have enough time to think about groom themselves when there’s a whole family looking forward to eat at least a piece of bread from the money the man brings after working hard the whole day. I do know that it is a bad point which depicts the unemployment of the country for the female party at some level, but life has to move on whatsoever. As a result, the life men spend in abroad countries is not the same as Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is a cultural country. Some people keep beards for identity purposes and also for religious purposes. So in that point of view and also with the point of general consideration of the bad financial situation of the country, I would like to ask whether the things you mention in this video about “Men don’t groom themselves enough”, isn’t it a bit racist and an evidence for you’ll not be enough considerate about the current situation in the country? So how can we trust and listen to your podcasts in such a situation?

TBH, Yeah most of this true for maybe for the new generation and small amount of people who has time and financial freedom. but most average Sri Lankans doesn't have a much life other than their jobs . They work 6 days a week and come home at night tired. I am a guy in early 20s and some of my friends used to be Gym rats and cared lot about appearance, but once they got jobs pretty much they aged 10 years in 4 years and lost most of their hair and don't care about appearance anymore
