This was so refreshing to watch. It's so refreshing to hear a groomer speak so kindly of Goldendoodles, I see so much negativity online surrounding the breed and it makes me sad sometimes. I have one that is just the sweetest girl and I always worry I'm gonna take her to a groomer that secretly hates her 😂

My doodle is training to be a service dog, my trainer says she will be an awesome service dog. She picked up on services naturally. I don't understand all the negativity surrounding them. I know several people with doodles and they are wonderful dogs.

Most doodles I see at work are wonderful! They have sweet personalities and are generally cooperative dogs that are eager to please. The only thing that upsets me is when their owners neglect them in between grooming appointments. Those curly dogs deserve to be brushed and combed through!

I've had many dogs in my 67 years and have never had any of them be as sweet and loving as the Golden-doodle I now have. They are smart, loving and always want to please you. They are however, high maintenance as described in this video.

I am staying with relatives who have 2 Goldendoodles. One is 110 lds and one is 94 pounds. They are awesome dogs. They are brothers and are super sweet but very protective. The younger is smaller, sneaky and loves to play. The older boy is like a bear. He still thinks he is a lap dog and when he flops on you it feels like a car fell on top of you. Amazing dogs.

Best doodle grooming video I have watched and I have seen many. It is nice to hear you giving worthy praise to the doodles. Every doodle own loves their dogs for being such kind and intelligent dogs. Non doodle owners for some reason feel the need to put them down for whatever reason. Doesn't really matter to us. We know what we have.

Yes, very relaxing delivery & very positive! The breed does help though, they are fantastic Dogs! I have a 4 year old GD, Simba & we just got a gorgeous & adorable 5 month old Irish dood, Chester!! Very smart, confident, fast learners, super friendly (with all Dogs & people!) & chilled out! Simba does not like going into the groomers ONE bit, but afterwards they say he's been really well behaved! I think he must have had a bad experience that we never found out about to rectify? I gave Chester his first haircut 'myself' a few weeks ago (I've watched dozens of full doodle grooms on KZbin, but after we'd had Simba already a few years!!). I took ages showing him the cutters not turned on and pretending to groom him (He is not afraid of electrics: Hoover, hairdryer, lawnmower etc!) then just gently turned on over his back like a massage (Treats & kisses seemed to pacify him lol), then under belly & legs, not perfect, but really positive experience for both of us, left his tail & head alone this time, mainly because I LOVE the shaggy tail & face look on doods!! This video was excellent, but I could watch doods all day, they are such goofballs & seem to put me in a feelgood & happy mood!! 5 stars *****

Our Golden Doodle is just a bit over seven months. When she turned six months, she was slightly over 70 lbs just prior to being spayed. What a marvelous dog! When you mentioned durable, you were spot on. When I come home, I like to sit on the edge of my bed and take my shoes off. She's learned that if she can catch me in this position, it's play time. I hear her coming down the hall at full tilt and I prepare for her flying leap onto the bed. Her objective, I discovered, is to catch me with my back to her - she throws her two front paws on my back and attempts to push me off. (I'm 6'2" and 250, so we're pretty even...) In any event my wife tells me to take our "wrestling" outside where we can roughhouse and not destroy anything in the room. I can't tell how much we both enjoy this interaction. I'm sure there are lots of folks who would abhor me allowing my dog this much latitude. As for being smart, she knows when the grandkids come over and tones it down for them (6 of 'em at any given time). I just can't say enough good things about this dog ("Lexi").

Rudy, you've got to be one of the most gentle North American groomers I've seen on KZbin. Just liked and subscribed. I have a standard labradoodle whom I brush and comb everyday except for the time I've been sick. He loves snow and played in it for few days and got all matted. You are right they are great doggies but are really high maintenance.

Whenever they get wet, you MUST comb out using a coat conditioner before they dry.

We are dealing with matting on the regular on our giant Goldendoodle, Max, who gets wet in the snow all the time. We’d been trying to keep his coat a little longer and that’s also gotten us into trouble with keeping him mat-free. Conversely, if he is shaved too close it irritates his skin (the groomer uses a hypoallergenic shampoo and conditioner). He is adorable and we love him so much but unfortunately he is not as compliant as the cutie in this video. His next appointment is January. In the meantime we’re looking for tips to clip, trim, and detangle so our groomer and Max don’t have to face a prolonged ordeal. I’m also going to have to convince my husband that Max needs to be clipped shorter. Thanks for this great video!

This breed is so beautiful!!! My sister-in-law has 3 of them but her's are minis. She grooms all 3 at home and does an amazing job. They are so sweet just like Chico except they may not be quite as content on the table as he is. They are not what you'd call uncooperative either though. ❤

I ave a 6 month old golden doodle , 55 pounds , he is so lovable . He loves to run so if you get a large one make sure you have the outside room. He can play fetch all day long . We r so glad we got him he brings so much joy to our lives

We have a springer doodle who is 3/4 poodle 65 lbs. We couldn't afford to keep bringing him to the groomer monthly. Bought clippers and scissors and it payed for itself in the first 2 months. I like keeping his hair short, 1/2" during the summer because he likes getting in the water and getting dirty. The hair gets too long and he overheats. Long hair acts like a big mop carrying the dirt and mud everywhere. The grooming videos are greatly appreciated. I'm upgrading my clippers this next month.

I have a Goldendoodle also. She looks exactly like Chico just a girl. Are used to take my dog all the time to the groomers but honestly I don’t like the way she looks after that. They always cut her down to the point that I don’t like it and she’s never mattered which is what I don’t understand. So what I do is I brush her hair every two days with a good comb and brush. I also use a really good conditioner for her coat and a really great shampoo. I use a pet blow dryer to get her dry faster. I’m waiting forI do shave around her paws and I go in around her face with a scissors. I tighten up her edges on her feet lol. I like my dog with long hair, so I am actively taking care of her hair. You have done an amazing job!

I have Golden Doodle. Dunkin is an F1 he is 75lbs at one year. His groomer said he is the best dog she ever has done. I comb Dunkin every day. He loves it. It's good therapy for me. Dunkin is a service 🐕‍🦺 dog in training so he is extra good. I love him

I have a doodle that just turned one and she’s only been groomed by a groomer once. She’s pretty good but it’s definitely a learning process for me. One of the best things I’ve learned/realized is that as long as you’re safe so as not to hurt them, are able to keep them mat free and keep their nails, sanitary areas, and around their eyes trimmed, it doesn’t matter what it looks like at the end of the day. Of course, we’ll get better at making them look pretty over time, but dogs don’t care what they look like. Good luck with your pup!

I was so lucky to adopt a 4 year old female from one of my friends , ginger is her name and hands down she has been the absolute best dog I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning ! She’s about 50 lbs , put her personality is almost human like , she will literally put her paws around my neck and hug me , loves to be held like a child . She is great with my two daughters , I would highly recommend this breed .

Owners might want to consider doing a lot of the grooming work themselves. The workload of Brushing, cleaning teeth, clipping nails, trimming hair, bathing is high. My household always has a human present, as Goldendoodles really need people. I do my own grooming as it helps me maintain his skin for moisture to prevent itching scratching. You have to help the groomer a lot, or do it all. I prefer goldendoodles to standard poodles by the way...

I do all the grooming for my big Golden doodle. Have my own table and all the tools. He is gorgeous and I love to keep him perfect. You must brush and comb every day just 10-15 minutes and life stays wonderful for you and the dog. Otherwise they get out of hand quickly. If I ever had to have him groomed professionally I pray to find someone as caring as you.

I have a mini golden doodle. It is true that grooming doodles is a lot of work. I groom him at home. I am not a professional groomer but he tolerates me very well. I find it very therapeutic when I groom him. My doodle is very sweet and very friendly.

How can anyone dislike this video? I have a cockapoo that looks identical to Chico but he weighs 25 pounds. His name is Noah he is 15 years old, and he is right when he says this dog is very sweet and great with children they love people they always try to please. On my bad days of painful fibromyalgia, arthritis he will lay next to me all day long and stay there until I get up . We have a cabin on the water and when we get to this Cabin Noah is so excited the first thing he gets his tennis ball then he stands at the top of the hill ...he drops his tennis ball watches it roll down the hill over the dock and splash into the water. He then runs down the hill over the dock jumps into the water and retrieves the tennis ball!! He will repeat this action on and off all day long! He will entertain himself because he knows we are all busy unpacking putting food away and settling in. He now can’t hear anything. He sleeps a lot more, but still has those occasional moments of excitement and jumping around like he is a puppy again. Only thing with the breed they are a lot of work as far as keeping them groomed. Invest in very good grooming clippers scissors and Watch lots of DIY videos about grooming this breed.

Love this video! We have a 28lb MGD who is literally identical to Chico, just smaller! I groom him every other day and my all time fav tool is the dematting comb. I’ll go over him afterwards with the steel tooth comb to crosscheck avoid any knots/mats. Total Dood Dad! 🐶❤️🐶

Great and very helpful video. I have a 70lb Goldendoodle that I am trying my best to groom. I have the most trouble figuring out how to use the clip on combs correctly. I am afraid of using the 10 blade in that I will clip her too close or nick her. I have the hardest time with her face and feet which she doesn’t especially like. Takes me easily 3-4 hours to do her. You ideas or suggestions will be most appreciated

We had one that looked and behaved just like him who passed away last year. Best dog I ever had. We just got a new goldendoodle! Such a great mixed breed.

I so much prefer the F1 generation as they tend to be bigger and exhibit more of the golden retriever qualities (without so much shedding thanks to the poodle).

We have a big sweet white fluffy "doodle bear" like Chico named Beau! Our Beau is a little over 100 lbs at 2 years! You're right, these large type doodles are just that...Large! haha! We were not expecting him to get this tall & massive but we adore how it makes his personality so fun!

Thank you so much, I thought this video was amazing to watch. My wife and I just rescued a Husky-doodle. (White with blue eyes.) We initially had to have Ducci's coat cut all the way down for medical reasons, but 5 months later, and a very beautiful coat, he's due for his first professional grooming. I'm really not sure what to expect since he is a Husky mix. He too is a large dog at about 64 lbs. We're nervous, but after seeing this video, I'm ready to see the results.

I love how you pre-groom. I have to cut my dogs’ mats out first or the wash will just make them worse. And both of mine mat like crazy no matter how much I brush bc they’re long and we have property they play on. ❤

I'm a long time in-home groomer and I've found that doing the head with similar technique done on a Bichon Frise (except ears of course) gets my mind set in gear. Also the same mind set works doing the body, except the mantle is different on the Bichon. I also do a Cocker foot and use Irish Water Spaniel grooming techniques on the legs. I have my Doodle owners blow out their coats with a Shop Vac on BLOW for in-betweens, especially if they bathe them. I've owned Standard Poodles forever and now also have a lovely Goldendoodle. Hope my tips help.

Lol Just decided to start grooming our doodle at home after my sweet little buddy came home traumatized for days after a bad experience trying a different groomer. 😳 don’t know what they did to her, but we’ll be grooming at home now.

My black golden doodle weighs in at 105. She’s on thyroid meds and strict diet. According to my groomer, she wants to lay down while being groomed. She gets groomed monthly. So much different than our late Standard Poodle that didn’t even need to be tethered while grooming. Both were adopted at less than 3 years old. Our Poodle lived to be 14! I hope to have my doodle has many years with me. What a sweetheart!
