I have to be honest, I think you are too rushed with dogs and a little rough. I cringed throughout the video. Your tone and comments to the dog come across as harsh. Not a fan. Maybe if you focused more on the dog and not on all the other active in the room it would have went smoother. Dogs Yelp for a reason, not to Inconvenience you. Last video I will watch.

I have two long hair doxies. I clicked on this to see how the dogs hair was groomed. As I watched I became more and more upset. I feel like This little guy is was being overly patient and courteous with an person who did not care about him. Just doing a job. The only interaction with the dog the whole time was to scold him. This is why I don’t take my fur babies to a groomer.

I saw a dauchshuund at the beach today. He was a well loved dog but his humans had no idea what he tolerates. His little girl took him to the,water and dipped him in twice. He was not liking it. She had no clue. Thanks for your videos. Very informative.

You do not know a thing about dogs. If you would do your research or even just pay attention to the dog you would have seen that he gave you a warning before snapping when you got close to his back end. If you would do your research you would know that dachshunds suffer from a number of back problems. If you do not care for their backs properly you could end up severely hurting them. Chester seems to be an older dachshund which means that he is even more prone to back issues if you are not careful. The way you are lifting his back end up so roughly is probably causing him pain and he tried to tell you that before you even touched his back end. People are bringing their pets ("family members") to you for you to CARE for them NOT for you to treat them so POORLY. Do your research and have some compassion for other peoples pets!

I had a black long haired dachshund. I’m in South Carolina, and poor Dylan would get so hot, so starting around April I would have him shaved. He sure felt better after his shave. Also, I don’t know about Chester but Dylan had baby fine hair, and that also contributed to him being so hot. I miss Dylan so much. He really was my baby. Spoiled rotten. 😍

Well...so, I went back & watched the previous Chester video & imo I think he needs an alone groom. Just an hour where no other dog (besides his friend Buddy) or other person is there. He seems anxious & all the noises & activities seemed to be overwhelming him. In the previous video he just moaned cutely like a creaky door & grumbled about his feet being touched but he wasn’t like this. If I were the owner I’d book an hour alone appointment & see if he does better.

Dachshunds are the biggest drama queens, but he really seemed to be having pain in his hip area, poor thing, he was not just being a baby :/ Not to be disrespectful, but maybe try and be a little less rougher with them when they growl or react in a negative way, because when they do, they are mostly just scared or uncomfortable for being touched and moved around, and talking to them in a harsh way only makes them more stressed and prone to get even angrier. You're not his alpha, so he doesn't "owe" you respect, so it's not a surprise he looked like he could've bitten you any second. You should make them as comfortable and safe as possible, so he can trust you, but the little man seems so stressed, and progressively angrier every time you tell him off. Positive reinforcement is key.

Must have been a very busy and stressful day at your salon during this groom because you seemed very rushed and not as tuned in to the dog as you usually are. I agree with others that something in Chester’s hips or back was bothering him during the groom which is why he yelped and lashed out at you whenever you lifted his rear. I would advise his owners to get a vet check to make sure everything’s ok before you groom him again.

I think something may be wrong with this dachshund's hips. He seems to have pain every time he's lifted or the moment your hands go near that area. My ten year old dachshund has the same issue, he actually ended up getting a metal plate inserted into his back. He's fine now though he just gets very noisy if some unknowing person reaches for the lower half of his body.

Dachshunds are very prone to IVDD, intervertrable disc disease, Chester yelped everytime you touched his back right leg, maybe from the first time you should have shown some care and consideration. If your work and handling of this dog is what we can see I shudder to think what's going on with dog off camera. Totally unsettling.

I owned a food aggressive dachshund years ago, and at work I get a lot of dachshunds that don’t like their feet being touched. Him he’s probably just old with bad hips or something.

Yes. Dashhounds are very stubborn and will display aggressive behavior when you do something they don’t like. (Obviously this is a generalization but if you don’t train them from day one, it is VERY common for them to display aggression)

I'm new to your channel and can't stop watching your videos! I'm not sure if you answer questions but I had one about dog coats (fur). You hear things about how some dogs shouldn't have their fur shaved because it will mess up their undercoat. But I see you shaving basically all these dogs. (I know a lot were very matted so I understand that) I guess I just want to know if this is true statement or not. I have a mixed dog and not sure what I should do with her. I was told by the shelter that she is a chihuahua/dachshund mix. I feel like maybe she is part Papillon as well, because of the long hair on her ears and her tail looks like a Papillon tail. I don't want to shave her, but I do want to trim up some of her hair and also maybe thin out the hair on top of her butt, as there is so much hair there it sticks up all the time. I do shave her actual butt and sides of her legs where her butt is as it gets very long there and poop gets in it. I'm just hoping I am not messing up her coat. I brush her regularly and she never has any mats or anything. Any suggestions? Thanks!

If I look away, David has put himself in some positions that could hurt him. I would love to be gentle, but my job is NOT easy. I understand your concerns but the day I know I don't have to watch over anyone working along side me, the air will be silent.
