Portuguese water dogs used to always heard the nets for the fisherman and Carrie messages from ship to ship they are definitely a working dog from what I've read they are ancient as far back as 700 BC these dogs are very intelligent and will outsmart their owners they are Master swimmers and retrievers.🐕🐕 they love treats when training these dogs for obedience or agility.

Wow he was so nice.. our girl hates to get the feets touched. Always only 15 min then she wants to do something else far away from the clipper;)

It is incorrect to shape the flag. The groom would have been better had the ears been cut closer to the leather and the tips thinned with thinning shears. Shaving the underside of the ear also helps improve air flow and lessen ear infection risk. Otherwise, it was a nice groom.

This video is very helpful. I have a Portie and just gave him his first cut. My clipper struggles a bit going through his hair so ended up doing more scissors work than I should. Do you mind sharing what clipper brand/model are you using? Thanks in advance!

True... but I sometimes owners like to tweak the breed standard. When I worked in this super upscale rich neighborhood years back, 6 out of 8 of my dogs on most days were PWD. About a good 1/3 of them wanted poodley ears like this and even a little poodley on the face.... but don't you dare call their dog a poodle 🤣. Not your dog, not your place to judge 😉🤷🏻‍♀️. I think it looks goofy (but well groomed!)... but then again, if I had a PWD it would have a Mohawk, a #30 blade on the ears and be pretty bald everywhere else except a ridiculously funny goatee and a lion tail. Probably be dyed leopard print too. Life is short.... YOLO 😂💁🏻‍♀️
