I did top not and found my dog losing fur on top of her head.

All the comments supporting not clipping the double coat are correct! What amazes me, is that people think it is ok to do this with a Pom too, why? because it is a small dog, it also has a double coat!! And always looks like the head does not belong to the body! Groomers who do this are not only potentially ruining the coat, they are clipping off the stunning guard hairs that give the dog so much beauty, only to reveal an ugly undercoat that is only there to keep them warm in winter and cool in summer. Educate your dog owners groomers, not just take the money to do anything they ask for! It's a bit like removing your Chanel dress to reveal your Primark underwear! (not that there is anything wrong with Primark) :))

The beautiful thing is that it all grows out in a month and you get to do it allover again.

I groomed a cast matted schnauzer today who was spicy about his head, face and feet. It took 3 hours but, he felt so much better after.

I would never use a groomer who shaved a breed that should never be shaved. I don't care what the client wants. They can go to a different groomer. I show these dogs and this is just beyond ridiculous

I know this is an old video, but I have a 13-year-old Shih Tzu who has bitten every groomer we have taken her to. Thank you for this very helpful video. I have started grooming her myself. The vet prescribed meds that sedate her to the point that she is sleeping! It would be hard to get her to a groomer like this. I did a full groom yesterday for the first time I did OK on her body, but her face, not so much! I will keep watching these videos and practicing Thank you again! One more thing, I didn’t trim her nails. I was too scared!

I have a shorter haired version of this . She sheds incredible amounts of hair. She only drools when she thinks I'm eating something because I always share with my buddy.
