Your video is spot on . Calm...love your 'pez dispenser ' rapid treat action....keeping em coming when you have the desired outcome. My pwd is just about this age...and learning. A fun challenge to my 80 year old self.

My Maltese puppy was so easy to crate train in about 10 minutes he was staying in the crate and laying down but potty training on the other hand is so hard

I wish I could post a picture of our new puppy. He’s 8 weeks old and looks so similar. Ours is total alligator mouth. Your seems much calmer. Maybe because he’s a male. His name is Boaz. It’s Hebrew and means strength.

What size crate is that for the new puppy? I have one coming in a few months and want to get something the right size before the new puppy arrives.

There are many factors in potty training. One place I found which succeeds in merging these is the gabs potty blueprint (google it if you're interested) definately the most helpful resource that I've seen.look at all the awesome information .

I love to use real food… Cut up cheese, hot dogs and chicken are some of their favorites!

Can I put her in the crate at night ? She seems to cry which makes me believe it’ll be counter productive bc it seems like she doesn’t like it anymore but will she just get used to it ?

She did great! She is two years old now and loves her crate. She will go in it even if we ask her from the opposite side of the house. She will often sleep in there withe door open :)
@shootingstardog19455 жыл бұрын
haha! Nope, she did not have an upset tummy. The treats were super tiny, in total it was less than a handful. Please read above reply for a description.

That crate is way too big for that size pup. You should have a divider in there so there is enough room for the dog to stand up and turn around. Also having that pad in there from a pup is also a bad idea because they are teething and will shred that.

Those are all great tips! This is actually her mom’s crate and we were just using it for the video. I also out a pad in there so she would not slip around. But yes, when my dogs are in their crates (unattended) I don’t have anything in there with them. Thanks for bringing those up!

@shootingstardog19455 жыл бұрын
The treats are just a tiny little bite. About 1/4 centimeter big. In total it came out to less than a handful. She is a very smart and quick puppy. Waiting too long to treat at this point, when she is first learning a behavior, would have meant that I would have missed a que and she would have gone without being rewarded for what she was doing. After her first session, and as her attention span grows, there are longer and longer spans between treats.
