I bought the 7000 pretty much because of this video. The first few weeks have been great. I'm super happy with it. For some reason having the plastic detachable guards are significantly better than built-in adjustable ones on the other model. I still use a different shaver to get a close shave on my neck, but this thing handles a shorter beard (2, 3, 5mm) really well.

SOLD! I bought this unit based on this video. Thanks for the great review and trimming tips. As a beard newbie, I found this video extremely helpful. As another commenter noted ... going up will leave you at the length stated on the comb, which could be too short for some. So, some caution and experimentation is warranted. I found out which areas I comb down and which areas I'll comb up after just a couple of uses. For example, I'll comb down on the chin where I want it longer, and I'll comb up on my side burns to keep those pesky gray hairs from sticking out. I also find that the additional attachments and the ease of cleaning make this unit worth the extra money when compared to the 5000. Since my wife has now taken over cutting my hair, I can't wait to consult your other video to bring this unit into that activity as well! Thanks again!

This video was incredibly helpful. OMG the number of attachments was frightening, but I just put the hair combs in the black bag and tucked that under the sink and put the other attachments, for trimming face/body hair in one bag with the razor. Very helpful, now I know what's what. Thanks!

Thank you for the guide, I have not used an electric shaver/trimmer in 40 years and you made the job much easier. I will need a little practice as the neckline is not quite right but greatly appreciate the video.
@GroomReviews6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Nick. Thank you so much for the positive feedback! I greatly appreciate it! I'm glad I could help ease your transition back to the electric shaver/trimmer. If you are having difficulty with the neckline, I always recommend taking a practice pass around the neck line lower than where you intend to finish. This way, you limit cutting off more than intended right off the bat and it gives you a second pass to go around and even things out where needed. Thanks, again for your support and being a member of the GroomReviews community! All the best!

You're so precise and your shaving technique is so good. I'm 23 and just recently started trimming my beard with precision tools, I had always used a standard hair-cutter with a guard since when I was 16. I had no idea how these grooming and trimming kits worked, so this year I just bought one and started using it. I've not done anything crazy yet though, as my beard doesn't seem as "full" as yours for example, there are a lot of empty spaces so I'm a bit afraid when grooming, especially when I'm not using guards to maybe refine something. I still wish my beard looked as good as yours though, I'm not happy with how mine looks and I have no idea what I could do to help it grow more "rich".
@GroomReviews6 жыл бұрын
Hi, leongunblade. Thank you so much for your kind words and positive feedback. It really does mean a lot. I totally understand where you are coming from. When hair doesn't grow in quickly to begin with and takes time to fill out, it can be intimidating putting a trimmer to your face. Cutting too much off or cutting uneven and thinking you'll have to shave everything are common concerns with these devices. As long as you go in with a plan and take it slow, you'll do great. A good area to test with can be on the neck. For example, if testing a precision line, you can leave the cut a little bit longer down on the neck for the first pass to get a feel for it. Then go back for a second run for a more desirable length. Definitely go through my videos and see if you find one where the beard thickness might be closer to yours. For beard growth, you will hear many opinions on the matter. Biotin supplements/vitamins are one of the bigger marketing pushes going around for increased hair growth. There are also some beard oils that claim they increase beard thickness and growth. Personally, my opinion is that if you have areas of absolutely zero hair growth, that have always been smooth without even a whisker, it's most likely hair won't suddenly sprout in those areas. In this case, my suggestion is to allow the hair to grow out around these bare areas. It may be uncomfortable for a while, but eventually, the hair around the bare spots should start to grow long enough where it begins to cover and look full. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and thanks for being part of the GroomReviews community!

can i trim to a 0, like If I want to take all the hair off to skin level?
@GroomReviews5 жыл бұрын
Hi, TeeVees Greatest. Thank you for your question. For the Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000, Model MG7750 seen in this video, you can use the full size hair trimmer without a guard to trim hair as close to the skin as 1/32" or 0.5mm. At that point, you can go in with the foil shaver attachment to smooth out the hair to an even closer finish. If you are looking for a true zero, I a razor would be recommended. Hope this helps! Thank you Paul! You looked sharp man haha. I’ve been looking around for a new beard trimmer as I wasn’t satisfied with my previous devices, the latest being the lower-priced Philips QT 4005. I’m willing to spend more on a beard trimmer but there are tons of options out there and I have to say that I appreciate the efforts you put into making these review videos and giving honest opinions about different products. So for an under 70$ it appears my best options are the Philips multigroom 7000 and Wahl lithium Ion, but since I’ll use it almost exclusively for my beard I’m inclined to go with the Philips.
@GroomReviews6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Captain Krieg. You are very welcome and thank you for the positive feedback. From the products that I have reviewed to-date, the Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000 is the best all-around performer on the beard based on its quality and range of attachments. It currently sits at a price of around $59 on Amazon, which is very reasonable and should provide you with a positive experience. One thing that you should consider is the size of the handle. It's a little longer than the Lithium Ion, which may feel odd in a smaller hand. But other than that, it should perform nicely. Thanks for watching and for your support! Good Luck!
@captainkrieg44326 жыл бұрын
GroomReviews I don’t know about the handle, my hand is probably just below the average size but still at that price and the positive reviews it just looks the trimmer to get. I’ll buy it soon and try to give my take on it here after a couple of uses. Again, thank you for your fantastic videos and helping your bearded bros everywhere.

So it says it can be washed under warm water but wouldn’t washing it under the water wash away all the white gel on the parts or is that okay? I’m new to using a beard trimmer. Thanks in advance?
@GroomReviews5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Josh. I think you may be referring to the white lubricating grease you can sometimes see on the inside of the attachments where the motor makes contact. You can still rinse the attachments under the sink. The substance holds pretty well and should stay in place with just water hitting it. If you physically rub against it while cleaning, it will come off, but even so, you're trimmer should continue to operate. Thanks for watching and being a member of the GroomReviews community! All the best!

@GroomReviews6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Jj Jr. These trimmers are very similar in their appearance, however besides the difference in pieces (25 vs 23 vs 14) and attachment types, there are differences in the performance of these trimmers. For instance, the MG7720 takes a 1 hour full charge for 120 minutes of use vs the 2 hour charge time for 300 min of use of the MG7750 and 2 hour charge time for 360 min use of the MG7770. Additionally, according to Philips, the MG7720 is waterproof and suitable for use in the bath and shower, while the MG7750 should not be used in the shower or bathing and the MG7770 states that the power cord and the accessories connected to it are not for immersion or for use in shower. As such, the MG7720 can only be used without the cord, while the MG7750 and MG7770 show as capable of being used with or without the cord. Additionally, the MG7770 looks to have a longer warranty of 10yrs as compared to the 5yrs of the MG7750 and MG7720. Here are some links to the specs on both products for further comparison: MG7720 (philips.to/2zIFoFe), MG7750 (philips.to/2QgR7kq), MG7770 (philips.to/2RCVnLP) Hope this helps! As such, the MG7720 can only be used without the cord, while the MG7750 shows as capable of being used with or without the cord. Here are some links to the specs on both products for further comparison: MG7720 (philips.to/2zIFoFe), MG7750 (philips.to/2QgR7kq). I personally have not used the MG7720 model, but would expect it to be closely matched with the MG7750. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and being part of the GroomReviews community! Wahl lithium 9818 or Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000 MG7750? which one do you recommend? Regards.
@GroomReviews6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Benito G. If you haven't already, check out my video for the Wahl Lithium Ion Plus 9818 seen here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHO9pICpfpKXoLs . The Multigroom 7000 and Wahl 9818 trimmers match up very closely and have similar attachments. Both are great products and I recommend both. That said, we each will have our own personal preference and I'm swayed by the Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000. The mm labeling and color coding of guards is less confusing than the fraction labeling on the all black Wahl guards. The Multigroom 7000 includes eyebrow and body guards and the guards are all reinforced to prevent bending or breaking. Additionally, I prefer the foil shaver of the Multigroom 7000 over the detail shaver of the Wahl 9818. Furthermore, the Multigroom 7000 includes a 32mm metal trimmer attachment in addition to a T-Blade metal trimmer attachment, while the Wahl 9818 only includes the T-blade. That said, I think the Wahl 9818 has a nice handle length as compared to the long length of the Multigroom 7000, which could be an issue for those not used to the size. Overall, I think the Wahl 9818 edges out the 7000 on the hair front. As far as being able to create those fades and clean haircuts, it comes with more hair guard attachments in closer increments to get the job done and is the brand preferred by barbers. For beard trimming, however, I give the edge to the Multigroom 7000. Thanks for watching and being part of the GroomReviews community! All the best!

Hi I'm looking for a beard trimmer thats just for beards. No head or body attachments . I have a medium size beard that I trim about 7 to 10 days. Do you have any suggestions ? Thank you for any help you can give me .
@GroomReviews5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Str8 Shooter. Thanks for your question. Of the trimmers that I have reviewed to-date, the closest one to your preference that has the least number of attachments would be the Philips Norelco Series 5100 Beard and Head Trimmer - Model BT5210. I know you said no head attachments, but the one with this can also be used on a longer length beard. You can find my review of the Series 5100 here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4eqp5KMfatqZpo. I also have a video comparing the Series 5100 to the Braun BT3040 here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fanOl3Rnrcmtaqs. This unit cuts from 0.4mm up to 13mm, so will depend on the length of your beard if works. Take a look and see if it's something that might make sense for you. Hi, Nikhil. The MG7750 and MG7720 are very similar in their appearance, however besides the difference in pieces (23 vs 14) and attachment types, there are differences in the performance of these trimmers. For instance, the MG7720 takes a 1 hour full charge for 120 minutes of use vs the 2 hour charge time for 300 min of use of the MG7750. Hello, I am thinking of buying Philips Norelco Multigroom 7720/15, is it good for really smooth shave and will it last that long. Is it a good choice, if not would you recommend me another trimmer, please.
@GroomReviews6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Tsvetoslav Ivanchev. Thanks for your question. If you are looking for a smooth shave, I would recommend taking a look at my latest foil shaver review seen here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nISyaYSJiLljeZY . In this video, I compare the Braun Series 3 Foil Shaver to the Remington F5-5800. Both of these are best used on a stubble beard, but will leave you with a very smooth finish. To your question, I have not had a chance to test out the MG7720 model, however I can provide some differences between this and the MG7750 model you saw in the video. Additionally, according to Philips, the MG7720 is waterproof and suitable for use in the bath and shower, while the MG7750 should not be used in the shower or bathing. Here are some links to the specs on both products for further comparison: MG7720 (philips.to/2zIFoFe), MG7750 (philips.to/2QgR7kq). Based on the trimmers I have tested to-date, the Multigroom 7000 MG7750 has been the top performer on the beard. But definitely take a look at the foil shaver link above, if you are looking for that super smooth finish. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and being part of the GroomReviews community! All the best!

Hi! How does the norelco multigroom 7000 (the one in this video) compare to the norelco beardtrimmer 7200? Why do you use the multigroom over the beardtrimmer for your beard?
@GroomReviews6 жыл бұрын
Hi, snow. I have not had the chance to use the Norelco Beard Trimmer 7200, so I can not speak to its function. However, I can say after some research, this particular product seems to have a history of key parts breaking after a few months. With regards to the Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000, from the products that I have reviewed to-date, the Multigroom 7000 is the best all-around performer on the beard based on its quality and range of attachments. The millimeter labeling and the color coding of the guards is less confusing than most trimmers, it includes eyebrow and body guards, and the guards are all reinforced to prevent bending or breaking. Additionally, I like the foil shaver of the Multigroom 7000, which helps work away at stubble to a smooth finish. Furthermore, the Multigroom 7000 includes a 32mm metal trimmer attachment in addition to a T-Blade metal trimmer attachment, which works well on hair and neck lines. It currently sits at a price of around $59 on Amazon, which is very reasonable. I find the Multigroom includes the attachments I need to trim with detail and precision for crisp, tight lines,that many beard trimmers lack. Thanks for watching!

Hi, Niki. Yes, the Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000 trimmer and all its attachments are fully washable and can be rinsed under the faucet. That said, the trimmer is not to be submerged in water or used while bathing or in the shower. Additionally, the unit is to be air dried and should only be used in dry condition. Hope this helps! Phillips Norelco 7000 or Phillips Norelco 5100? Please let me know
@GroomReviews5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Deacon St. John. For precision beard trimming, I still recommend the Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000 (amzn.to/2VHSZK6), which you can see in my video review here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3fRYYafZqegr8U. If your goal is a stubble finish at a tight increment length setting, then I recommend checking out my video on the Philips Beard Trimmer 5500 seen here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4Sod5J3hMqhjZo. The 5500 is an upgraded model of the Series 5100 and I compare both in this video that I put out a few weeks ago. Of the trimmers I have reviewed to-date, the Multigroom 7000 is one of the better performers for precision on the beard. I've received much positive feedback from the community on its performance and it has continued to hold a very positive 4.6 out of 5.0 star review rating on Amazon. The Multigroom 7000 comes with the pieces needed for creating crisp, uniform looks that are absent with the 5500 and Series 5100, and depending on the size of your beard, you can interchange the beard and hair guards to trim at longer lengths or get down to that stubble look. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and being a member of the GroomReviews community! All the best!

Hello my friend, can you please suggest me which trimmer should i buy , im betweeen philips bt5206/16 and philips 7720/15 which is similar to the one you are interviewing
@GroomReviews6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Enias K. Unfortunately, I have not had the chance to use either of these Philips models and can only speak to the Multigroom 7000 which I reviewed. In my opinion, the Multigroom 7000 has been the best performing trimmer of those I've reviewed to date, with regard to trimming one's beard. It's quality made, has great battery life, a range of attachments and gets the job done. I took a look at the Philips 7720/15's specs and it is quite similar to the Multigroom 7000. There are slight differences in the number and type of attachments, as well as battery life, but all-in-all they are pretty close. Not sure what prices you are seeing on your end, but both the products you've suggested are showing in the $100+ range when I search around. The Multigroom 7000 sells here in the US for just under $60 and if you could get your hands on one at that cost, that would be ideal. Looking at the bt5206/16 and 7720/15, the difference between these products is going to come down to height adjustments vs precision trimming. The 7720/15 has the tools and attachments to detail and get into those tight spaces for precision and clean cutting, which the bt5206 looks to lack. However, the bt5206, has smaller increment height trimming adjustments built into the device, while the 7720/15 has attachments in larger increments. If you need to have increments every 0.5 mm, then the bt5206 device provides that. However, that's where the advantage looks to end for the bt5206. It doesn't look to have the precision ability of the 7720. If I was choosing one of these for myself, provided the pricing was close between them, I would go with the Philips 7720/15, as I want an all around beard trimmer to detail with. Hope this helps! Good Luck! Thanks for watching!

@@GroomReviews thanks alot, i bought the 7720, and im very satisfied with the product, especially with the attachments for precision trimming and body grooming one's which are very userfull , so yea definetely 7720 is worth for the 10-15 euros more, and i dont think that 0.5 mm is very essential too

Is there any difference between 7000 series models? I am planning to get 7720 but I see no difference in trimmer itself compared to this one or 7770
@GroomReviews6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Edvardas Ž.
