It’s tough man, time is that one thing once gone, spent, wasted, whatever, it can’t be replaced like money, possessions, just memories now yo, and whether you are aware of it now but he’s with your ancestors and if you think I’m talking shit, just shut up and listen (sorry, not meant aggressively), but listen to the winds and remember this message from some random stranger from Aus yo… 🖤✌🏽☺️

"We can't turn back the hands of time", true, but whenever we listen to this beyond-classic masterpiece, we sure can slow them down some. Unbelievable song. He did Freedom with so much passion, the wind is still carrying it aloft somewhere today! From an NPR article in 2004, Santana was really, really late - "By that time, Havens had been onstage almost three hours - and still they needed more. "And I thought, 'Gosh, what am I going to do?'" Then he belted out "Freedom," and his electric ad-lib performance set the tone for the next three days. "The word 'freedom' came out of my mouth because this was our real particular freedom," he tells Cox. "We'd finally made it to above ground."

I saw Richie live for the first time in 1974,Richmond VA and full concert at the Birchmere in 2007. Also caught him a few times in Taos , NM when he would do impromptu appearances for friends there in the summer. He always gave good performances and was always high...like most of the people who were there to watch him. Very interesting guitarist and when he spoke it sounded like he was reading poetry...which in a way he was...speaking poetry that is. Today's world could use another Richie Havens......if we just turn back the hands of time......

Amo questa canzone con tutta la mia anima. Proprio questa sera volevo tornare indietro nel tempo, l'ho chiesto a Dio . Mi ha risposto con questa splendida canzone.
