KC & The Sunshine Band finally hit the BIG time in 1975 with their hit "Get Down Tonight", and most of their future songs were a good mix of R&B and disco tunes. However, prior to their first big hit, they were much funkier!!! If you want to hear a good "earlier" semi-hit of theirs, I recommend "Queen of Clubs" from 1974. One of my favorites!!!!

As a confessed child of the 60’s & 70’s .. we loved this group’s music to dance to!! Plus, K.C. is really cute! Me & my friend would drive to West Hollywood to dance at the Dillons nightclub!! Disco ball 🪩 and platforms!! 👡 ✨✨

I miss the 70's like you can't imagine! The music, the trends, the fun, the freedom feeling, the movements, the clothes, the protests, the dancing, the disco's, & most of all, we all just liked each other, without question 💞Great reaction 💞

"That's The Way I Like It" is another hit by KC & The Sunshine Band. The Gap Band made similar music with songs like "Early In The Morning" , "Party Train"

I have a confession . I never really liked his music much but I bought the albums because I thought he was soooo cute. I was in about 7th grade. Listening now though, that horn section is pretty awesome.

Ah, the 1970's were great years for awesome music. KC & The Sunshine Band always had people dancing. I was 9 yrs old when this came out. It was huge, played constantly on the radio & everywhere you went - school dances, roller skating rinks, adult discos & bars, restaurants with jukeboxes, etc. While racism has always been around in this country, when it came to music, we didn't see color lines back then. Many groups had a diversity of members. It didn't matter what your ethnicity was, as long as you could play an instrument and/or could sing well, you were part of the band family. We didn't care if a band was all white, black, purple, blue, or a rainbow mix. Even if it wasn't you particular favorite genre of music, we still appreciated talent & how great it sounded whether it was rock, disco/pop, R&B/Soul, country, jazz/blues. I really miss those days...

This is the 1970’s and people got along great My grandfather used to watch Soul Train every Sunday after church It’s crazy how the leaders of this country try so hard to keep the country divided against each other This is by far the best era of music You had Disco,Mo Town,Rock,Country and my personal favorite The blues This is when people played real music with real instruments and sang from their heart and soul I would have never believed that music like this would ever go away Man these were the good old days I wish I could go back right now Because people got along way better than they do now because the media didn’t lie about everything It’s a dam shame what they have done to our country All the men and women that have made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us If it was not for the young men that stormed the beaches in Normandy on D Day We would all be speaking German right now They gave their lives for all of us and look how we have thanked them It’s a dam shame what these evil people are doing to this great nation

And that's exactly how it was, Kind Sir! Everyone partied, worked, lived and hung out together. Attitudes were mostly positive and, like you said, a very happy-go-lucky vibe! Oh yeah, there were problems but we didn't let them mess with our minds and spirits. I really wish you could've experienced the 1970's as a young person. It was indescribably cool. Yes, Sir, everyone on that stage was part of the band and some of them still perform with KC to this day. The background singer with the shorter hair still sings with KC, for instance. I just saw a recent video from about a month ago. KC still has it!

Everyone on that stage was "in the band". Bands like this and Sly and the Family Stone and Earth Wind & Fire had huge bands with horn sections that were all part of it. Try That's The Way, I like It from Soul Train or possibly American Bandstand. Live performance and it was so much fun. The horn section is on FIRE and I have always loved this band. You didn't have a party without this music in the 70's.

So this is the kind of I grew up on. No autotune, just great hard-working talent. For a band a bit funkier try Sly and the Family Stone. Every one of their songs off the greatest hits album is awesome but a great example of their music is ""Stand!". Has a great anthem feel to it.
