I've got an Ameritron AL-811H and bought a set of Penta Lab 572B tubes. I worked through another You Tuber Amp Repair Guy who repaired the amp and installed the tubes. They are great tubes. They're so good I bought a pare matched quad set as backups although I don't expect to use them anytime soon. Thank you for the video.

I am a Broadcast Engineer by trade. I have dozens of tube transmitters in service. We're struggling trying to find good tubes and rebuilds. I'd like to see a video of Penta's facility and rebuild process. Also, do they burn-in their tubes prior to shipment? Do they buy random duds off the shelf? I have a few facilities with tubes needing a new home. I am subscribing for future updates

Luke, first off thanks for all you do for the Hobby. I have a 2008 built Ameritron 811 rebuilt with Tom W8JI’s mods. I am afraid the tube market could disappear with tariffs. Penta is great, but they do get their tubes from China but the test the shit out of them. Before, they ship them. I hope we don’t kill the tube Market! JohnBoyUtah 😎🇺🇸🎙📡

Those tubes are far beyond what I would need. I have a pair of Svetlana 572b's in my Swan Amp, and they get the job done. Too bad they went out of business, they made quality tubes.

I talked to Scott at Penta Laboratories when I ordered my tubes. I'd love to see the interview and find out if they ever plan on making 4-1000. I'd love a 4-1000 amp but tubes are my hold up.

I drove fuel oil truck and one day leaving the terminal and climbing this bridge over the channel I got halfway up and the drive shaft knuckle broke I was stuck the shaft was on the bridge I took off my belt and pulled up the shaft secured it and backed down the bridge in neutral to try to get out of harms way

On the Alpha amps, you can change from 3cx400' to a pair of 3cx800, or use the Russian "equivalent" GU74b. Will probably need to add a transformer and rewire the heating filament lead to it, since the voltage is different. Worth looking into, I don't remember all the details.

I would say don't get rid of those tubes you have stored up that need to be rebuilt.. Hang onto them.. Things change, times change and it's quite possible that there may be a time and place in the future where the tubes will again be rebuilt for a reasonable price. No one can predict the future I don't care how smart they think they are. If it turns out that a person was right about the future that's nothing more than the luck of the draw. Chance.
