The Discovery of Grounded Theory, by Glaser and Strauss is the classic statement of the approach. Corbin and Strauss takes up Strauss's version of GT and has been updated by Juliet Corbin since Strauss died. (Glaser thinks it is too prescriptive.) It contains lots of very useful practical advice about how to undertake GT. But both are well worth reading.

These videos are phenomenal and make this concept much easier to grasp. Thank you for doing these. Grounded theory and qualitative research are newer concepts for me so I really appreciate your videos to help me gain a better understanding!

Dear Professor Gibbs, Thank you so much for these video series. You have really cleared many issues i have been facing with coding. I am a humble clinician using qualitative research methodologies looking into teamwork. Your youtube videos have been far more useful than the volumes of texts i have read.

Great video. I watched the other on axial coding as well. Nice way of making what could otherwise be lugubrious shiny and bright.

I find these videos/presentations very resourceful and clear as I try to develop a conceptual framework for grounded theory, for my dissertation, they facilitate the reading of the handbook, thank you for that, I wonder if you are sharing the presentations themselves online? A thank you from Lebanon this time :)

Professor Graham, Thank you so much for useful guiding of grounded theory. My working area is about family business, especially from the strategic management viewpoint. Could I use the grounded theory to explore the relevant management practices for family firms? Thanks.

Dear Graham, thank you for your very useful videos. I have a question in regards to the simultaneous data collection and analysis. I have adopted 2-tier interview approach based on the recommendation from my supervisor to analyse the data before moving to the next round of interviews looking at the categories emerging initially and ask the questions in accordance to the first round of interviews. In your academic practice, have you ever came across this approach? Do you think there might be some implications of this procedure?
