The Discovery of Grounded Theory, by Glaser and Strauss is the classic statement of the approach. Corbin and Strauss takes up Strauss's version of GT and has been updated by Juliet Corbin since Strauss died. (Glaser thinks it is too prescriptive.) It contains lots of very useful practical advice about how to undertake GT. But both are well worth reading.

Dear Graham, thank you for your very useful videos. I have a question in regards to the simultaneous data collection and analysis. I have adopted 2-tier interview approach based on the recommendation from my supervisor to analyse the data before moving to the next round of interviews looking at the categories emerging initially and ask the questions in accordance to the first round of interviews. In your academic practice, have you ever came across this approach? Do you think there might be some implications of this procedure?
