Poor adorable Phil was shaking from the cold. They should cover him up to keep him warm. I love this tradition. However, I wish he hadn't seen his shadow. I'm tired of enduring the freezing temperatures in Michigan

Beauregard Lee here in Georgia didn't see his shadow so we will have a early spring. We have a early spring here every year. Its gotten to where it's spring all winter down here. We only have one or two cold snaps every winter that last about 3-4 days and that's about it. Winter time is the best time of the year down south because it's to damn hot the rest of the time. And I know wat you mean about Michigan because I was born there and have visited there in the winter time and it's brutal. I'm glad my parents moved me back down south where they was originally from when I was about a month old.

They use two scrolls that the groundhog can choose from. One is six more weeks of winter and the other is early spring. He predicted early spring this year, I wasn't sure what Staten Island Chuck in NY City would chose this year until i saw an article saying he also predicted early spring.
