From my understanding the Lairds Bottled in Bond is not currently available. It was supposed to be rolled out after a 4yr hiatus in the summer of 2018 but due to some concern by the company that they wouldn't be able to maintain it for years to come, they pushed the re-release. Hopefully it's soon. That being said Aside from the 80 proof Appplejack which none of you shoud be using as it contains a large amount of neutral grain spirit, if most of you go looking for this you may not find it. You will however find the 100 proof Apple Brandy with the same label as the bonded and they have a great 5 year single barrel which wont break the bank but watch out as it's bottled at 133.8 proof! and there's a great 7 year too! I can see Greg, that you have a bottle that reads bottled in bond, if you got that at a store recently it was a lucky find and if they have any more you should stock up!

As a side note, bottled in bond is one of the first quality control measures for the food/drink industry. It was done because basically people/businesses would buy whiskey and instead of getting what they bought, they would get some random crap. So back then, if you bought bottled in bond, you knew that it was 100% what was advertised for it. Besides what was listed bottle in bond also means that it is aged in a bonded warehouse, which means that the distiller/company cant mess with it without a government agent there (to verify they arnt doing shady stuff to it).

The editing in HTD vids is always great, but the Tasting Notes are my fave.
@patrickhodson87155 жыл бұрын
I LOVE KZbin channels where the editor makes themselves a character in the video. The “I’ll do whatever I want, Greg” and “ahrange” for example, along with the tasting notes for just about every video lately. We are given a snarky, sarcastic, jabbing, and funny character in the Editor, and we don’t even know their name, gender, or anything else! Modern Rogue does the same thing, and I love it 👌
@Hargiwald5 жыл бұрын
It can work and really add something, and I think has done for this show several times. But I really don't care for these new '"tasting note transcriptions". They're just trying to hard. They seem to have suddenly become a staple - there every episode, even if there's often nothing there to build something funny from. By the way, I think this phenomenon actually goes back quite a bit. My feeling is that Food Network's 'Good Eats' started doing this several years ago. The show's host and creator, Alton Brown, would on occasion get a wry correction on an incorrect fact, usually starting with something like, "Actually..."
