No, the array itself carries a UL listing for grounding, you just need to do what JV did here.

Just curious. The green wire goes to the house ground, correct? And if you didn't have the steel rack supports driven into the ground you would add a ground rod to that copper wire?

@@roberthosking7524 you don’t have to drive a ground rod but you can. You can bond back to the house ground if required but some would arguing you are making it more susceptible to lightning.

The possibility of a lightening ground strike radiating up 1 ground source a riding throughout a system and out the other grounding electrode source is frightening. I feel better with only the two ground rods at the house which are bonded together underground. Then just bond all metal parts together. The Sinclair being galvanized I wonder how insulated it is in the ground? Yes I watch too much Mike Holt.
