Best is relative... I loved Group 5 back in 67', loved the DRM's Group 5 also.. GT1 in the 98' were awesome. And even the now GTR3 and prototypes are intriguing to watch.

Shows once again how Gp C was the best race series of all, because of the sheer variety of engines that were allowed. Mind you, so did F1 in the early 90s. Everything was better then.

Well it's actually F1 that was Group C's downfall. Group C was more popular than F1 plus cheaper so F1 had some deal with the FIA to slowly kill it

Solid Snake Nonsense-didn’t remotely compare in popularity! Grandstands at Monza we as empty in the day as they are in this video. I attended many races. No TV coverage, no interest from general public, no crowds other than Le Mans (which always gets the same size crowd irrespective of which cars run). A good formula though.

I will never forget the ferrari day at brands hatch many years ago and seeing among the many f1 cars the ferrari endurance cars like the ferrari CanAm cars. They were sooooo fast round corners. And wow that C11 how fast is that!!!

I fucking love group c, i race them in assetto corsa but they dont enough recognition in my opinion. The racing that group c had was one of a kind and the fact that they still race today and people still come to see makes me happy! Thank you and bozzy and all the others for making this possible! I found this video the other night and it is some of the best Group C racing I've seen, I've never witnessed these monsters in the flesh but I'm hoping to get to Monza to especially witness this round at some stage in the near future but I'm afraid that now Covid has closed international travel for the foreseeable future I may not get to Monza. Luckily the organisation posted the top speeds from every race. Fastest was the nr.27 NISSAN R90 CK 1990 at 297.9 kmh (185.1 mph) 2nd the nr.21 PORSCHE 962C 1990 at 293 kmh (182.06 mph) and 3rd the nr.25 GEBHARDT C91 1991 at 280.9 kmh (174.5 mph) In qualitying the R90ck managed 303.7 kmh (188.7 mph) And the Sauber reached 297.9 kmh (185.1 mph) The peugeot 905 only did 288.4 kmh (179.2 mph) You check all the results on this link peterautoracing.alkamelsystems.com/

I absolutely loved the days of Group C racing. I always looked forward to reading the latest issue of On Track Magazine to see the latest race results. To this day I’ve disliked the later open topped boring cars by Audi and BMW...👎 Thankfully closed cockpit cars are back including Ferrari for now.
