ruby where on earth do you find these keen group project people? every time i've done a group project, i've ended up in a group with people who want to put in the bare minimum (thus leaving me to pick up the slack) or leave it until the very last minute. i've always really resented when tutors have assigned them for this reason.

I had the same question. You end up doing everything by youself, giving someone else a nice mark for doing nothing... not a groupworkfan...

Why don’t find a way to attract people in your circle. In that way the whole group will carry out together a survey or something.
@pollydowdlepolly3 жыл бұрын
For me at least, I've only done a couple of group projects, one of which was assigned groups and the other was groups we chose. I think it's important that the module or programme leader makes their expectations clear and that there is a detailed record of what each person did and when. If there's only one or two people doing the work it's very easy to submit that without giving anyone else credit and they fail. At least, that's how it works for my university. Other than that, everyone wants to do well and values their education in 3rd year so it's easier to get along.

Right? We were assigned a group project the other week and I, as always, ended up doing all the work. I created the presentation and handout, I structured the whole thing, did my research and the others just handed in generic slides with information from Wikipedia. 😫

I was in London last weekend for the second time in my life and while we were having dinner in Soho with my friend I told her that I had to go to Waterstones to buy one particular book. I also wanted to find a book on a very rare theatrical subject as a gift for my best friend. I couldn't find it there, so when we got out from the Waterstones and passed by Hatchards I had to step in. I didn't know it was the oldest bookshop in England, but I thought about you while being there. No wonder it is your favorite bookshop! It is beautiful 💖

I actually feel stressed cos I'm moving to England soon to accompany my husband while he's studying there (he's British) and I can tell that people's first questions are always what do you do, or something like that and my visa actually won't allow me to get a job so I actually felt pressured to get a skill that would allow me to make money from home cos our society today won't allow people like me without a job (even though I don't need to or I can't have one because of the situation that I'm in)
@elizabethrobinson96383 жыл бұрын
Please, please don’t feel stressed about this. Yes, sadly some British people often judge you based on your job, but definitely not all. I love Ruby but personally when she talked about immediate questions being what do you do, I have to say I did not agree (I mean, it might be my second, or third question, but definitely not before you even know their name) I am sure that if you explain your situation, people will understand.

Hiii I hope you could help me..does anyone have tips on how to lead a group in a group project?? I've been a leader since first year of high school until now but I still don't know how to equally distribute tasks so I ended up doing all the difficult stuff and then I feel guilty because my groupmates have no contribution to our group project.. I just don't know what's right and what should be done...
@AnnaHazel173 жыл бұрын
I'd suggest you get the group together and see first of all whether anyone is really keen on doing one particular bit of it - as far as possible, make sure that people get the chance to do what they want! Then, I'd make a list of everything else that needs done and try to evenly distribute it... if you write it down and plan it out, it'll be much easier to actually work out how much you're giving everyone to do and ensure that it's balanced :)
