A mother and father in Scioto County, Ohio stand trial in the death of their infant son. Young Dylan Groves was found dead 30 feet down a well last year, prosecutors said. Authorities blame the boy’s parents-mother Jessica Groves, and father Daniel Groves-for what happened. The defendants are charged with aggravated murder, murder, kidnapping, endangering children, tampering with evidence, interference with custody, gross abuse of a corpse, and four counts of felonious assault.
Problems stemmed right from Dylan’s day of birth on January 10, 2019. The boy was born with drugs in his system, authorities claim. Daniel Groves later got the child back after showing that he followed regulations, but the defendant allegedly started missing important dates, including court dates and doctor’s appointments.
Investigators claim that both defendants bolted on a four-wheeler when authorities dropped by the home for a checkup on May 20, according to WLTW. Deputies obtained a search warrant, got Jessica Groves to give herself up quickly, but Daniel Groves was only arrested after a six-hour standoff. Authorities said they found $42,000 of stolen items at the residence, and later found the late infant in a well.
Deputies said Dylan Groves didn’t even make it to a full three months of age. They claim there’s evidence showing he’d been dead since March.
How Baby Dylan Was Found In the Well:
A coroner determined that the victim had been slain. The child sustained several bone fractures, had been wrapped in plastic bags with duct tape, then put in milk crates that were wrapped in chains, and other bindings, according to WSAZ. The crates were weighted down with rocks and a weight, authorities said. As in his birth, Groves died with drugs in his body, according to the coroner. This allegedly included methamphetamine.

Lisa Simpson using the statement “passed away” is not a cause of death. It’s simply a nice way to say “someone died”. Therefore, it was used today in court by the defense to lesson the impact on what these monsters did. They murdered their child. The defense will never use the phrase murdered. Using “passed away” is a lie. He was “killed” He was “murdered”.

God imagine coming into the world and before you can even open your eyes you’re addicted and withdrawing from 3 different drugs. Then you’re taken away from somebody that was loving, caring nurturing, nursing you back to health and keeping you away from the evil that did that to you and handing you directly over to the very evil that did that to you in the first place. Lord have mercy. CPS is just as guilty as them IMO. I know they had no idea this would happen but the baby was in a safe place being nursed and taken care of and you take it out and given it to these losers ? I don’t care how much they fight when a baby comes into the world that doped up you should lose your rights simple. Scioto County Children Services is pure garbage.

I was thinking the same. The child was taken from her on day one. How long was she sober *(if ever) Did she go thru parenting classes If a child is born an addict and has to go thru withdrawal - there's a lot of crying & sleepless nights Were these parents prepared for that Were they monitored when child went back into their custody What was the basis of returning Said child Our social services & child services are so overwhelmed and children's lives are in Jeopardy every minute every day .

@@voraciousreader3341 No... It could be either. Allocution would make sense in reference to her monologue, but she offered in it neither advice nor warning, so it wasn't a standard allocution. Elocution, on the other hand, would refer to the way she has spoken and presented herself throughout trial - the phrases she has chosen, for example (which others on this thread have already pointed out came from her lawyer rather than her). I went with the latter because the judge wasn't hugely clear which he meant and, to me, elocution makes more sense.

This poor beautiful perfect human being was treated like garbage and i will never understand how anybody could even consider doing this to any body but even worse your own flesh n blood!! They should have takn that baby at the hospital n never give him back!!!! The nurses n staff could see how much she cared abt that baby that shld have been a huge red flag! If she doesnt care rt now do ya think she is going to when she takes him home???? I just cant understand anything like this n how anybody has it in them to do this!!!! Rip lil guy!! I agree with you, she was apparently "bothered" with the case, so to speak. There was a moment when the prosecutor was speaking, and she had her tongue against her cheek, honestly, it gave me chills, she looked ready to jump on someone's neck. Work given and done with mastery. My dream is to have people like that in this country where I live.

@TampaJohn
@TampaJohn 3 жыл бұрын
@@verabolton did someone force the drugs into her system? Or was it voluntarily done? It’s funny how a woman makes excuses for another woman. Many people callously murder others while on drugs. That’s why drugs are illegal. There is NO excuse for what she did. You can live in fantasyland and blame the drugs, but it’s all on her. She beat this poor baby over a long period of time. That is not drugs. That is depravity towards another human. A baby, at that. Let’s hope you’re never on a jury where a woman is on trial.

Why is it that Children's services thinks that reunification is always in the best interest of the child? Until this changes, the poor children don't have anyone in a position of authority advocating for them, and situations like this will continue to happen. How many more babies will have to die before the system realizes that Reunification is NEVER in the children's best interest when methamphetamine is involved.

I was a Foster parent for yrs. No the best interest for the child falls way under the radar. It is very sad. Sometimes the home they place the child is far worse than the home they are leaving. A lot of the children I know have a great case for lawsuits. I am glad I was able to make a difference in some cases.
