I declined as his uncle is a bus driver, so he would be in the home with a woman I have no idea of every day for the entire summer! As a mother I felt he should at least be outside, enjoying himself with other kids his age if nothing, well she went off on me for setting boundaries with my child. I had a teacher that told our class, ‘if you have kids, don’t leave them with your bf/gf if they’re not the parents, they will not love the child like you do.’ He was not wrong. ETA: I can’t believe how many times I’ve seen responses from ppl about their experiences, like their one experience cancels out the rest. The teacher I’m speaking of was just trying to give a caution that ppl know who they’re trusting their kids with, not that all stepparents are bad.
