I enjoy splitting plants in my garden. I’ve done this with my ground covers, Hostas, coral bells, ferns, carex, pansies & even hydrangeas. I’m going to split my sedums, astilbes & hellebores this spring.

Does this only apply to plants that are in pots? Can you do this with plants that are in the ground, if so can it be done this time of year? Thanks
