Anytime I have cornrows and leave them in for a long period of time, my hair gets tangled and sheds really badly. Why is that?!?

Wow! Your hair is amazing. So healthy looking. I'm just a black guy (Jamaican) that loves seeing black/SSA women embrace their natural hair. Keep it up and rock that fro!

i've been natural for 2 years now and my hair hasn't grown one bit, im starting to regret cutting my hair and have the urge to relax it but when i see other black women with long thick and curly natural hair i just feel worse, i really want to grow my hair.

Michelle i possibly it’s the products you use ? I cut my hair six months ago and I’ve been natural for about four or five months what help me grow my hair was The product Cantu and my hairs have Had ground wonderfully and it has defined in my curls more than before hope this helps!
@michellei79517 жыл бұрын
i use ALL cantu products and my hair is still so short, are you mixed? -- i know it has nothing to do with whether you're mixed or not but are you though?

This is literally me! but relaxers do you no good. When I was relaxed my hair was soo long and I got soo many compliments but all relaxers did to my hair is damage my hair and break my edges. I've been natural since October 2015 and honestly low maintenance is key. Protective style your hair (by wearing wigs and braids- not too tight ) and use natural African products on your hair or you could use Oils like Coconut oil or Castor oil.

MAMA AFRICA thanks so much, I'll try this and see if it works.

I have been natural for 8 years and my hair grows and breaks and recently I even started getting bald in many spots. I had to sit down and study my hair and find out what the issue was. I just realise that i wasn't treating my hair right so i wasn't retaining length. Now i have started growing out the bald spots and hope to have my hair back soon. Just try hard to retain length. your hair is growing but you are not retaining the growth

I do the same. My hair prefers to be left alone. I keep it moisturizer and protected by wearing protective styles. Love the versatility of a wig.

I love that you know what works for you and you stick to it. That’s the key to hair growth really, If it’s not broken don’t try to fix it ❤️

I have the same routine and it works for me too! I think the key is to just leave your hair alone..too much manipulation will just eventually damage your hair. Protective styles, like wigs, are the best!
@mstcherie137 жыл бұрын
Wigs are one of the best protective style especially in this weather I'm with you! And your natural hair is beautiful. Thank you for taking the time to make this video, it's appreciated. :)

Better than braids? I was thinking either a sew in or braids because braids are low maintenance and you have to take care of wigs as well as your own hair.. Uuugh I just hate my hair so much lol like it require so much time and effort and money and even then we can't always wear it out in the open ,🤦🏽♀️😒
@leiafromnowhere48475 жыл бұрын
I can attest that my hair started growing when i stopped trying to get it to actually grow. All i did was cut off the manipulation by having my hair in big box braids for three months (cleaning them of course) . When it was down I'd forgo blow drying until it was time to actually braid it. I'd also give my hair time to breath by waiting two weeks before braiding again. Sometimes even a month. I've seen a massive difference from hair that barely touched the nape of my neck to hair just at my boob. This is compared to when it would never grow when i tried different products recommended all over KZbin and those crazy hacks you see everyday

I've been so sick of dealing with my hair I don't even take care of it properly anymore because I've never seen growth what I put in effort or not so I'm considering getting braids soon (I've ordered them online just waiting for them to arrive) and I've wondered how much braids help hair growth if you properly take care of them?I want my hair to grow so badly and braids are so foreign to me because I don't like them but I need a protective style lol. I feel like it'd be easier to deal with my hair I actually had a lot of it because short natural 4C hair is a pain I'm the ass to care for 🤦🏽♀️😭😒

No regs for natural hair. If this is what walks, mtschhh!!! Keep doing you. The way you protect you natural hair is for you to decide. I wish i can find me a good wig that suits me without looking ridiculous on me. Abeg, wig it anytime. 😉😊😀

Hey I was hoping you guys can help me. My hair is growing so slowly. My brothers can grow up to 2 inches in one month . I don’t eat badly and I take care of my of my hair( 4c). My hair has been short my whole life and I really want to grow it out. I oil my hair and use leave in conditioners and I also take biotin everyday. I also wear my hair in cornrows and in wigs because my hair is uneven and it looks bad when I leave it out So how can I grow my hair?

But what's the point of growing beautiful hair just to cover it up with a wig?
@elizabethtimothy95106 жыл бұрын
Lisa Paula the weather is often too harsh for some hair type like 4b,4c and it better to cover up during those period.

I'm currently transitioning would you recommend that or full on big chop? x
@shamarao.95346 жыл бұрын
Melissa Mukasa big chop. Along the hair shaft are different strengths between the natural and relaxed hair. As the relaxed hair weakens dries and breaks off it'll take some of the natural hair with it. It's best to big chop or trim off as much of that relaxed hair as you are comfortable with.
@tinasnow20066 жыл бұрын
U can transition if u don’t like short hair. I’m transitioning because I don’t like short hair and can handle the two textures.
