And I heard him (ie: Shaykh Ḥammād al-Anṣārī) say: Indeed shaving the beard has four affairs: وسمعته يقول: "إن حلق اللحى فيه أربعة أمور هي: *_Disobeying Allah and His Messenger_** ﷺ* معصية الله ورسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم. *_Changing the creation of Allah,_* تغيير خلق الله عز وجل. *_Imitating disbelievers_* تشبه بالكفار. *_Imitating women._* تشبه بالنساء". ʿAbd al-Awwal b.
