I’m disappointed when some black women refer to their hair as “nappy”. I will NEVER embrace that word ever!

I big chopped in 2013 with just 7 months of new growth. If I were starting over, I would spend less time manipulating my hair. Would have saved myself lots of time, money and energy. I've come to learn that my hair has nothing to prove in it's length or it's texture and I dont have to force it to do anything, in an attempt appease anyone.

I agree! Natural hair is beautiful AF. I currently have flat twist in my hair and Ive been getting so many compliments at work. All from non-black women…. (A Mexican woman, an Indian woman, and a white women) the white woman literally said to me, “You always have great hair!” I literally wanted to hug them all lol 🥹♥️🫂

Understanding that "as a man thinketh, so is he" and inspired by Star Puppy, I named my hair Gloria. I went natural 6 years ago after getting a relaxer at 10!! I would have never thought I would look as good as I do now. I feel like looking after and growing my hair has revealed my unique beauty and the complements whoooo sis!! 😌

AA women are leading in the natural hair movement don’t mind those celebrities on TV and film take inspiration from ordinary women online doing great work like Tatiana here who’s doing God’s work. Celebrity women are so disappointing both BW and Biracial with their straightening styles. Glad to see young women change the narrative. Pretty Privilege has to be emphasised as a mantra to get our women to love their natural state

I have waist length natural hair but i always have it in mini twists with no added hair, I am too scared to wear it out because of hearing about ends rubbing on fabrics but I think my fear is excessive. How often do you wear your hair out and how do you prepare it for sleep? How do you refresh it in the morning?
@Tatianaclicks
@Tatianaclicks 2 ай бұрын
Hm I wear my hair out in a fro maybe 97% of the time. I’ve only wore protective styles a hand full of times. When I go to sleep I put my hair in 4-6 braids or I use the scrunchie method. It takes less than 5 minutes. And If i need it to in the morning I’ll add refresher spray/water but i usually don’t add any product until it’s time to wash again. I’m posting a video tommorow so stay tuned!

Hmm. What products are you using? are they water based? are you stretching your hair at night? I personally experience like 50% strinkage, when I stetch my hair at night...this helps to get my strinkage down to 35-40%. Also try cream based products this helped me? But take that advice wit a grain of salt idk your hair texture/density

i love your channel but i would really reallyyy warn against playing into the whole "long hair is the goal" mentality. i know there's a lot of stigma around having short and natural hair, and i just want to free us from these shackles!!!! the clickbait title, the overuse of the term "strategy"... it all feeds into the pressures we place on our hair. our convos don't need to center on hair growth, i promise.
@HandleBerries
@HandleBerries 2 ай бұрын
It shouldn’t really matter if they do or don’t,if longer hair is the goal (which honestly is for most) cool if not that’s also cool,but for HER and many others I think long hair is the goal. But if you’re working towards healthy hair then black women should find what works for them,either way hair grows though so it doesn’t really matter
@ipsilonia
@ipsilonia 2 ай бұрын
@@HandleBerries as much as we want to convince ourselves that "it's just about hair growth", there's a much stronger force (eurocentrism, misogynoir) that drives that desire, and many of us haven't fully dismantled that within ourselves
